This is an insight into the peculiarly American christian cult and culture. We don't see this in other countries, or not on this scale. Stripped away from the old religious and liturgical foundations it's quite amazing to see what christianity, or this brand of christianity has developed into. Thanks David. Also you are a really supportive drummer, but not just supportive, you bring a solid contribution of your own.

Yeah I agree, here in England it's nothing like this, I'm atheist anyway but that's besides the point, I came here for the groove and was not disappointed, David is a beast

Hey Dave honest question, why don't you use any wing nut on your cymbals. I've seen one fly off on you already on cruise ship video and man you are close to losing one in this video- do you feel they ring better? is it cool to not use any? curious, I wouldn't want a nice cymbal flying off
@DavidColaDrums4 жыл бұрын
adrian rodriguez here is the reply I gave someone else in this same thread: Those wingnuts are easy to lose, and aren’t on the kit anymore. I’m too lazy to buy more, and it is risky depending on how far the cymbal actually goes down on the rod. I always try to make sure there is more than enough room so that the cymbal can be as far down as it can without worrying about it falling off. I don’t just let it sit a centimeter from popping off 😅.
@adrian36684 жыл бұрын
@@DavidColaDrums I hear you- I use a couple of small splashes in my set up and you know those will definitely fly off so I'm forced to use them- I will say after a long gig spinning several of those off seems like a big chore-LOL I was thinking of maybe trying the tama clip ones but read they fail pretty often

Hey man, Thanks for doing this video. I'm using almost the same setup but with a gopro :) Do you use you use click and tracks in the church? How do you remove the click from your recordings to upload to youtube?
@cgw_yt4 жыл бұрын
Yes we use click and tracks in the church, its panned to the left for us, and to remove the click, all you have to do is not add the audio from the iem into ur video. Just use the camera audio if u want a more natural sound.

Technical question... How do you record with that DSLR for more than 30 min? That is usually the long the DSLR go without stopping.... Or that Canon go further...?
@tonylancer73674 жыл бұрын
Hey David! I'm always impressed that I can hear your drums really, really well. That Zoom mic must be really good, or maybe there aren't any floor wedges on the stage so there's basically no noise (except you playing the drums)? By the way, how come your mix doesn't have a click track anymore? Too big for click now, eh? 😂

(non-drummer here, just general music lover) Is it normal to not use a wing-nut on the top side of the crash, ride, splash cymbals? I know we want the cymbals to be able to move on the stand, but it seems needlessly risky, in terms of a cymbal going flying off during a set. Please explain!
