My Lockdown Paradise - Bouldering at Meliden Quarry, North Wales

I've been so grateful to have this stunning limestone bouldering wall close to home during the COVID19 lockdown in North Wales. It has been great for keeping focused, working on climbing technique, and getting strong again after my leg injury last year. Such a great wall, mostly steep, plenty of problems and tough traverses. Just what's needed.

Some good stuff here and great quality - Just binge watched a lot of it. - You deserve more subs chap. Looking forward to getting out again very soon and this was just the ticket as Ogwen valley and Tryfan are on the radar after this weather front passes. Any not to be missed Recommends for Grd 2 or 1 scramble without ropes? West Face Direct is listed as a 'must do' 2+, but is it a bit adventurous without ropes ? - for context - Striding Edge, Sharp Edge and Jaks Rake done in England, very pleasant. Wonderful days ahead for Great Britain outdoors me thinks.

What awesome encouragement! Massive thanks! The Ogwen Valley is definitely my home patch and full of incredible routes. I am really cautious not to advise people who I haven't climbed with on which graded scrambles can be attempted without ropes as it is so dependent on experience and factors on the day. For incredibile grade 1 adventures though (thinking of your list above) just spend a whole day exploring the N and S ridges of Tryfan but be sure to know how to descend. Another great route to consider is the East Ridge on Y Garn as it has some good options for climbing around difficulties. Hi I’m local to this area do you know any park ups close by to this as the boulders are still there to stop us parking up and barriers seem to be popping up everywhere round here 😒 awesome climbing btw!

Hi Cassie, thanks for subscribing! Good to hear of another local climber. I always park up to the boulders and there is a spot for one car just before the boulders. Never had any problem with access there. Do you climb on rope too?

Beyond The Trail ah thank you I’m in a van tho and my fella has his van so we need abit bigger space lol Good to have found you love the spots you’ve been too! I don’t climb myself but love watching the videos!

@@sassicassiful plenty of room for a van there but it's on a bit of a tilt so no good for boiling the kettle 😅 I'm really pleased you have enjoyed my content and I'm looking forward to getting some more mountain videos up soon. Cheers.
