I love this glow up for you and David. As someone who has watched you for a long, long time (when your videos were cool toned and you had a bit of platinum goth/industrial vibe) this new chapter proves how hard the two of you have worked to get to this point. It’s so impressive to see you remain true to yourself (especially with the changes and challenges in the social platform landscape) as you meet these personal milestones. 🎉🎉🎉

Monstera, rubber plant, fig tree are bulky, green and relevantly easy to care. I'm also imagining pothos with great potential to grow and occupy whole wall with its beautiful greens

For a plant that grows huge, is aesthetically great and is so so simple to let live i'll suggest you the monstera. You have a great light in the living room so will grow fast ;)

Jenny, your home will be so stylish and cozy. I'm looking forward to the updates :) Plant: you could try ficus lyrata or a monstera. Both would like the light and their maintenance is quite low. A little water every 7-9 days.

For plants, begonia maculata grows very big! And it's quite stress resistant (mine managed to survive 1 year without being watered!) The leaves have polkadot so not very minimalist but they are a sturdy plant

Plant idea: Benjamin fig. It's a beautiful tree and it's so easy to look after. It grows quite quickly, the branches can be cut to the shape that you want and it has these beautiful leaves. I am a plant killer, but this one thrives in my home.

I would recommend a bird of paradise plant, I have one and it has doubled or even tripled in size in two years :) and looks great with nordic minimal interiors in my opinion.

Flat looks amazing! And here are some plants to look up: - Monstera, either the most common green one, or the variegata or thai constellation of you want some patterns. - Philodendrons are also easy many of them, example: Florida, Florida Ghost, Pedatum, Squamiferum (climbers, grows upwards) or Black Cardinal, Prince of Orange, Xanadu (grows more flat). - Alocasia can grow big, but can be a little harder to care for though, example: Zebrina, Frydek, Wentii, Macrorrhiza

Everything looks beautiful. How exciting to see this renovation moving along. I would choose a fiddle-leaf fig (Ficus lyrata) plant. It is easy to care for and the very large, heavily veined, and glossy violin-shaped leaves look dramatic.
@burningchristmastree23
@burningchristmastree23 Жыл бұрын
Plant-wise I‘d recommend a Ficus Lyrata or maybe a Ficus Elastica (generally, Ficus are easy to take care of and they can grow huge) or Monsteras are easy to keep and beautiful

I recommend a split leaf philodendron. I have 3, 1 i have had for more than 25 years. I love plants and green growing things. Philodendrons like water, can deal fine with neglect. They like sun or just a bright corner. They have beautiful ruffly leaves.

Hey Jenny, I would go with a philodendron. There are several large varieties that are big statement plants and the easiest to care for from my experience. Hope this helps!

So glad you're going American style with an official laundry room - woo hoo! May I suggest that you treat yourself to separate washer and dryer machines for your utility room? As an American who lived in London for 7 years, I cannot understand the washer/dryer combo that never dried the clothes! I too used to hang my clothes on the radiators in my flat - Ugh!

Love your ideas for your flat. We have a small 100 year old cottage in US. built in Victorian style. We gutted the bathroom (a 60's horrible reno), took out the tub and put a shower using the entire tub space- overhead shower and hand-held on the short wall. The shower walls are the white square tiles you are using in your kitchen backsplash, w. narrow black tile edging. Floor is a classic white w. black accent hexagon tiles. Most of our furniture is either Scottish or English antiques. Sounds like we have money, but actually we are low income and the house is only 700 square feet, but searching and patience worked for us.

Depends on your light, but if you want a small tree- Ficus Benjamina or Arebequina Olive. Although it was trendy a few years ago- i don’t think plants should ever be considered trendy- the Ficus Lyrata is still great.

First off, love your dress (not really used to seeing you in a color either)! I so agree about French doors. Those are really lovely. Everything you have planned sounds grand. There are some plants that need little water or sunlight but I don't know their names. I have plants in my home and know nothing about them. I just try to keep them alive. I'm all for restoring Victorian charm!! I love how you stated what you do and don't put on your grandma hahahaha. I've been trying to find new garbage cans that are not plastic, myself, and haven't really looked to into it. Hope you find the right one too.

I've just finished renovating my apartment in Milan, even though I still have to wait for the kitchen countertop to arrive. My main inspo was you, Jenny! When it comes to furnishing, I'm a bit of a collector, so I usually tend to think more about the one single piece of furniture rather than the whole picture. My dream couch was so hard to find (at a decent price) but it was so worth it. Speaking of desk - do not settle for less!

For the plant I would recommend a Fremontodendron. They are perhaps a little more demanding than the most usual indoor plants but they are so stunning it might be worth developing green-tinged fingertips. They have beautiful yellow flowers and can be shaped into a tree or a bush depending on your preference. Just imagine the Japanese vibe of having a small tree covered in perfectly shaped flowers in your home ✨

I think the mother in law tongue is a nice architectural plant with clean lines and easy to grow. I wanted to suggest for your desk… you might be able to go to a place that has wood for custom woodworkers, and buy a rectangular slab of burl wood, then have someone finish it and put legs on it. I did something similar and bought a live edge slice of maple, and I’m putting low block legs on it so that it’s in the style of a low Japanese bench. It will cost me under $200 total doing the finishing and legs myself; for a five foot long bench.
