Wave propagation is such a tricky beast. It's a shame we're controlled by radio now and have all these agencies governing its usage... otherwise nothing would be stopping us from many miles of range. I think this may be the most honest and realistic explanation of what's available. I've seen people claim to be using 5.8ghz to get long range and I just don't understand how that's physically possible. 433Mhz makes more sense but then you're on garage door opener time. I have to assume some of these people with truly longer range are just illegally pumping copious amounts of power into their transmitters for short periods and making sure to not do that in the same area for long durations.

Question about MFDLink vs Partom 1500mw, how far do they need to be separated to reduce interference? Your channel has been the most informative of all the channels yet! Keep rockin on!

i have my fpv car setup nearly done, but don’t have a radio and receiver yet. I want the BEST range that’s possible, so i can drive through the neighborhood as far as i want. I looked for the Dumbo RC. Do you have a better idea? Maybe an other Radio in combination with a booster?
@RakishRc3 жыл бұрын
I'd suggest you get the radiolink transmitter which offers 700meters of range in 2.4ghz. If you want you can use a external radio module or UHF module to get better range. Or you could look up to make modifications to your anntena on a radio to get better range 👍

Brother I have same partom setup as urs... Can u kindly plz guide should I just use some converter to use my cell phone as an fpv screen (will cell phone show some lag)? Or using a dedicated fpv LCD screen will be more better? (if incase cell phone will have lag etc)....
@RakishRc3 жыл бұрын
I would suggest use a separate lcd screen if possible...I want to use a separate display rather than my phone...the UHF signal and the video tx signal can damage the sim card which happened to me...I use my cell phone with offline mode for that....but a display is better and more convenient.

@@RakishRc OK brother I got but besides the damage caused to phone and sim will cell phone shows some lag as compared to dedicated fpv LCD ?

No there won't be any lag..I am using a 5.8ghz otg style fpv video receiver which can be connected to a phone..so with go fpv app I can see the video feed..I've noticed if I output the video on tv it appears a bit clear than my phone but no lag as such

Basically you connect the video output of your 1.2ghz video receiver to video in of the 5.8ghz transmitter...that way you can transmit video to your fpv goggles or you mobile device with the 5.8ghz receiver

If your transmitter has a white wire for audio then connect that to the white wire of microphone and the power and ground wire of mix and transmitter together

Nice Car! Possible ideas to improve the interference, maybe the vtx is too close to the radio receiver so you can try to put the video transmitter in the front of the car. There is also a filter called Low Pass Filter to connect direct on the vtx, maybe can help decrease the interference. Antennas are important, 1.2ghz system needs big antennas
@RakishRc3 жыл бұрын
Yes I did test by placing the Vtx further front the UHF receiver and there was still interference as seen in this video. I'll decide to add a filter to vrx once I test with notch filter. Thanks!👍

Depending on the power level you've got if using on ground you should get about 350-400 meters easily. You'll have to test for multi pathing interference when operating around trees or other dense objects.

How do u map channels and bind. I have MFD Rlink but can't seem to get any controls . Donut have video ?
@RakishRc3 жыл бұрын
To bind you have to first make sure the receiver and transmitter are updated to one firmware and are also set to exact frequency band you want to use..then put the transmitter to high power and simply hold bind safe button on transmitter and power on..then hold the bind on receiver and power that up. It should automatically bind. To know more you can download the pdf manual from myflydream website under this UHF product downloads
