This is an Axial Ax10 equipped with a 433mhz tx/rx system and 1.3ghz video system. With this setup I am able to go into places far away with perfect vision and control. Any questions feel free to ask!

2 years now! Hope you didn't sell it for crack because you should post a video. Not calling you a crackheaf lol
@Chretze Жыл бұрын
@@antisolcial I indeed did not sell it for crack! A LOT has happened with that project in the meantime - I took it to the next fking level. -I 3d-printed a bunch of parts for a pan & tilt mechanism for two main cameras, one in color and one for low light, as well as a fixed back facing camera. -I installed a raspberry pi 4 on it with a 4g LTE stick with mobile internet. The video stream is fed into the raspberry via a USB capture card and then sent off to my own server computer at home, which forwards it either to my main desktop PC (or again via internet to any other device) -On my desktop where I'm watching the video feed I'm also running a python script that's taking controller inputs and sending it to the raspberry pi on the Summit in order to control it. This gives me virtually "infinite" range, wherever that 4g stick has network connectivity, I can drive and have FPV. The latency is a pain in the ass though lol but as a proof of concept it works fabulously. I will post a video that I took last summer I believe.

After circling around the internet trying to see what people are running and coming back to this video I've come to a simple conclusion. You can't get long range FPV in a car. I mean, you CAN, but you're honestly just not supposed to. If someone understands radio, they are probably honoring good etiquette. If you live out somewhere in the country then you might get away with it. Otherwise, there's too large a chance you could be interfering with local repeaters and things like that trying to mess around with 1.2 ghz vtx. 5.8ghz like people are using a lot of can be done rather well with certain proprietary technology but it still has its reasonable limits, being that it's using a wavelength that is not good at penetrating objects. If you had a place out in the country with a lot of wide open space and nothing but trees, you could place your receiver on the roof with a big directional antenna on it and get a lot more range. Or you'd have to build a nice enough directional antenna on a little ground station that you can make sure is facing the direction of your car out in the distance. If necessary you could just use a 2.4ghz signal boost for the controller and low pass filter if necessary to keep the 1.3 vtz harmonics from interfering with the 2.4. Going beyond a setup like that in an urban environment may be something you'd want to keep to yourself as the fun police will likely not approve.

Wow, my DJI fpv would have died in the first 500m.....anyway, would you be able to share how or what mechanism you used to dumpen the camera shake/vibration? is it the suspension only or you have a gedget installed like a gibal or any special mountings? I'd really appreciate your help since this is the only thing I'm not happy yet on my car. Aamazing setup and thanks in advance. Cheers.
@DameMediaVids3 жыл бұрын
I'm not using any type of gimbal. It's just the minor stabilization from a go pro session 5. The suspension being so plush really helps.

Hi. I got my video transmitter from ReadymadeRc. It's a 1.3ghz transmitter. I'm using Fat shark HD3 goggles. I'm using a VAS 1.3ghz antenna from Getfpv.com. I'm using a Taranis QX7 radio from GetFpv com. I'm using an Immersion Rc 433 MHz radio transmitter module from ReadymadeRc. Lastly, I'm using the matching immersion rc 433 MHz receiver on my car. The HD camera for this video is a Go Pro hero 7 black. The camera that I'm looking through is a runcam fpv camera. The RC truck is an old Axial SCX crawler with a brushed motor in it. Yes, please, Dame, list and/ or link to what worked for you. FWIW, since you did this, RadioLink and DumboRC have transmitters that claim 600 meters/ 1900 feet. For many, that's good enough. What we need is the video system. Hopefully, it's affordable. I hope a ground station isn't needed so this is very portable. Thanks.

What's the output power on that 433mhz transmitter as well as the 1.3ghz video?
@DameMediaVids Жыл бұрын

@Magneticitist Жыл бұрын
@@DameMediaVids Nice. That gives me hopes of this 1.3ghz setup I just got going. Literally just came back in the house trying to test the range and my 2.4ghz controller transmitter ended up being the bottleneck. I'm kind of afraid of interfering with local shit pushing too much power but I really want to try 433mhz as opposed to trying to boost this 2.4ghz further.
@DameMediaVids Жыл бұрын
@@Magneticitist I don't think you'll interfere with any signal. 2.4 is not going to go far, plus it don't penetrate at all. 5.8 even worse. Either 900 or 915 will work, but 433mhz is king. Penetrate through anything. Then from there, it's all about your antennas.
@Magneticitist Жыл бұрын
@@DameMediaVids So I guess I'm wrong to think people are using fairly large tx power on 433, it must actually be fairly small since it might be hard to find a high power one anyway.. I guess since it's not really attenuating then you're right it's all about the antenna gain.

@@DameMediaVids Thanks for the reply man... last thing what's the max range? And does the video quality good even though there are lots of trees?
@DameMediaVids4 жыл бұрын
@@kronosdarkangel5290 well, I'd say I've went about 2 miles out with this set up, but that was out in the country and there was fairly no trees or obstructions. Through these woods as far as vision goes, I can see crystal clear with not much break-up, and that's because of the 1.3ghz vtx and the antennas. Again, if you don't get strong enough antennas, it won't matter what equipment you have. 1.3ghz penetrates between walls, trees houses etc. A normal drone like a DJI phantom (I have one) uses 5.8ghz video. It won't penetrate well at all. As you see in the video I go up and down hills and down into the creek where the ground was in-between me and the truck but I was still able to drive out. But no prob man any questions I'll answer if I can help.
