Nice video. Thanks. V10 is not an action camera to be compared with Action 4 or Hero 11 or even Pocket 3. Just to mention that the best practice to record an action scene is with fixed camera (on stand or something) and calibrated horizon not the opposite - fixed object or face and shaking handheld camera. So actually, the real-time stabilisation is not essential for vlogging and this is a key difference with the action cameras. V10 perhaps is not only the first Canon’s portable vlog camera but the first portable vlogging camera at all. Most likely you will need an action camera with more solid not so fragile design than Pocket 3, just in case, you know ;)

just go for an action camera then. This V10 is a perfect and superior pocket camera for all other uses, with specifications far superior to most, at an inferior price.

this is not an action camera. It is an excellent camera to carry around and shoot eveyday activities in a quiet environment and in a quiet way. I use it to take pictures and I really like it, it is the best I know for this purpose : very fast, opens instantly, no fuss, huge captor, great colors, I carry it all the time . And it is strong, excellent form factor, original, complete and small for a very nice price , it can also shoot at 5 cm.... For the uses I have, i would recommend it 100 %, it has become instantly my daily pocket companion.

I think the V10s place is in the studio where it's on a tripod permanently mounted. The image quality is more than just good for the price. There is always work arounds for the creative so I don't think it should be discounted. Good video, keep up the good work.

Yes totally agree! It makes a really good webcam👍 I was a bit disappointed by canon bc it’s marketed as a “vlog cam” but it’s not the best for vlogging lol

That's what I'm loolking at it for, 90% of the time, as a top down camera aimed at a 9x12 Tab S9+ which I will use as an interative display board. The 9x16 aspect ratio is not optimal for this as the Tab is 10x16, but apparently it can focus at short distances, and it should be able to auto focus on drawings or web pages or excel spreadsheets I can annotate live. I'll just have some bare space on each side of the tablet. Since it doesn't zoom, I'll have to adjust the height off the table. I will be able to use it for bloghing occasionally. I hope overheating is not an issue, as I plan to shoot in 4K. I can pick up an open box for $380. Thx for a thorough review. And BTW, vertical format sux.😊

Almost all vloggers or video makers focus on technical specs of a camera. In my opinion, they should instead focus on creative cinematography on a small scale. Stability comes in handy, but it is useful for recording mostly walks. To video a walking tour, it is possible to work around the need to walk and record. Those who try would end up with a clip more inspiring than those who rely on camera features to do what everyone else does. I find new and improved cameras irresistable too. I have to restraint myself from going for advancing technologies and keep trading up. I must keep the focus on making videos that enlightens and have lasting values.

I agree that not everything is about the specs, but also there's a line to what is acceptable in certain price ranges and how the company markets the product. I can find ways to avoid movement, but that is restricting to the "vlogging" that Canon advertised that it is for.

I like VLOG style videos. It gives us more insight into the photographer's subconscious than tech reviews or how-to videos. Like snapshot photography. I also like the form factor of the V10. And I absolutely agree with you on the bad points (lol). But , I can't stop thinking of it. since I saw it in Chitral Park. Stability could be a bit better by not using ND filters. Not meaning more stability but less blurring（手ぶれ補正で発生するにじみ的なやつ） etc. Motion blur is the cause of image quality loss.

ohhh I had the ND on auto, I wonder if I turned it off if it will get better, but it might blow out the highlights too. it's like the ultimate bad boy, you know you shouldn't fall in love, but you can't stop thinking about him lol

The V10's selling point is that it is everything a vlogger needs. The downsides are well documented: Horrendous overexposure Dreadful overheating problem Laughable image stabilisation I really wish somebody else would have a go at this form factor. Canon fluffed their attempt so badly.

I think DJI nailed the osmo pocket 3! not the same form factor, but the target audience and needs are the same. the only thing I think Canon has over DJI is the color science🥲

Atleast its a real camera your video is not pixelated if you upload in youtube but if you use iphone front back camera is all pixelated if you upload in social media
