Thanks so much! I couldn’t tell the difference confidently by just holding it so I measured the weight (both are for iPad Air 13”) Pitaka 326g Smart Folio 284g Pitaka is a bit heavier but you get more angle options and a pencil flap👍

@@YukaOhishi Thank you so much for weighing them out for me! I couldn’t find the specific weight for the Smart Folio anywhere, so this is super helpful. I am also leaning more towards the Pitaka since the vertical viewing angle actually is pretty useful and right now I have to use a stand to achieve that orientation. Thank you!

After my GCSEs I’m looking to buy an iPad Pro, and I’m not sure between getting the 13 inch or 11 inch, if I were to get the 11 inch I was wondering if it is worth also getting a monitor so I could use an external keyboard and mouse with the monitor and iPad while at home at my desk, but then I could just use the iPad when I’m at school for example. What do you think? Is there any point also getting a monitor, and should I go 11 inch or 13 inch?
@alanychung
@alanychung 9 күн бұрын
I'm on the same boat. I think for me I'm going for the 13 inch since I have a 14 inch macbook pro and I can use sidecar to duplicate screens. The weight of the devices is so light compared to the previous gen. I was thinking its super expensive for just an ipad to become a monitor but my friend was telling me to think of it as a monitor but it can also be a daily driver too. Once I saw it like that I'm more willing to spend more on the ipad because he's right I'd get to use this more especially since I do video editing and cinematography

For what it’s worth in the past i have had the 13 and now i have the 11 m4. I have zero regrets. It’s smaller and i find way more portable. I do have an external monitor and at times I do use when I need several widows open all at once. However it’s not a necessity for me.

Almost all vloggers or video makers focus on technical specs of a camera. In my opinion, they should instead focus on creative cinematography on a small scale. Stability comes in handy, but it is useful for recording mostly walks. To video a walking tour, it is possible to work around the need to walk and record. Those who try would end up with a clip more inspiring than those who rely on camera features to do what everyone else does. I find new and improved cameras irresistable too. I have to restraint myself from going for advancing technologies and keep trading up. I must keep the focus on making videos that enlightens and have lasting values.
@YukaOhishi
@YukaOhishi 10 күн бұрын
I agree that not everything is about the specs, but also there's a line to what is acceptable in certain price ranges and how the company markets the product. I can find ways to avoid movement, but that is restricting to the "vlogging" that Canon advertised that it is for.
@WaytoGo723
@WaytoGo723 10 күн бұрын
@@YukaOhishi From Canon‘s perspective, that is a marketing ploy, latching on to a trend, vlogging which is a pictorial diary with little substance or meaning.

Nice video, thanks! Does the Apple Pencil Pro support the “hover” functionality in DaVinci Resolve for iPad? Meaning that you can see where the pointer is before you touch the screen with it? Have issues on iPad Pro M1 12.9” not being able to see where the pen exactly will touch, many times leading into clicking the wrong buttons, etc. Can you do a video to go more in-depth for your whole workflow, for example editing a video from A to Z on the iPad. Thank you!

I like your style of instuction... without the painful comedy 99% of the other instructors try to put in... 'dive in, jump in... etc.' Please teach other instuctional content creators how to eliminate their comedy routines and get to the point., I will check out your other videos. I bought the iPad to use for DaVinci not realising it wasn't the same as Studio version on my laptop... I took a course with ASC - we did a half day at technicolor and the technician there said DaVinci on IPad was the best way to see color.

this is not an action camera. It is an excellent camera to carry around and shoot eveyday activities in a quiet environment and in a quiet way. I use it to take pictures and I really like it, it is the best I know for this purpose : very fast, opens instantly, no fuss, huge captor, great colors, I carry it all the time . And it is strong, excellent form factor, original, complete and small for a very nice price , it can also shoot at 5 cm.... For the uses I have, i would recommend it 100 %, it has become instantly my daily pocket companion.

The M4 iPad definitely can handle some of the more complex compute/AI functions whereas the M1 couldn't - example you can use magic mask and a color dynamic keyframe at the same time and it chugs right through. The one limitation that I want most is the mixer to be added to Fairlight on the iPad so I can do voice overs. No way to do it right now. The one thing people have to do is make sure your LUTs and effects on your platforms are kept in sync. MotionVFX has made it easy, but the free add ons have to be done manually.

Outstanding video. To me, both devices, along with the iPhone, complement each other. There might be people that an iPad is all they need, but I am not one of them. My 2017 MacBook Pro is always next to me while watching TV. My iPad is with me in the morning when I am in my yard watching KZbin while drinking coffee and a cigar. My M1 Mac Mini has a 34-inch monitor when I am working. I have a 2012 iMac, which I write my papers for my master's degree (once I retired, I decided to go back to college because I was bored 😂). I have three Windows PCs for gaming (old games). And finally, I have a few mini-PCs running Linux. All my devices complement each other. Stay safe 🙏

Many of us just want to use an iPad Pro as our only computer because of its form factor and versatility. And since the recent iPads all have the same processor as the Macs, is it really too much to ask for an iPad that caters to a large number of professionals who aren’t just limited to video editing, creating music, and drawing? With these improvements, users wouldn't have to lug around two computers. It’s about time Apple steps up and addresses the real needs of its customers!

I wanted to make this video because I heard about a data point that most iPad users own a Mac, and there were a lot of talk around "iPads should have MacOS" recently. What do you think is missing for the iPad to cater to professionals that are not doing those creative tasks? For documents and emails etc, I think it has been more than capable to be the only device for a while now.

thank you thank you thank you. I've been looking for more vids where we can use Macbooks WITH iPads. In my daily workflow as a small business owner, I use both! I'm a mountain guide and I hike with an iPad Pro in my backpack AND a MacBook Air. Definitely overkill, but I love how they work together. I can do so much more with both. ...I take pics and edit pics on the spot for clients with an 11inch pro, I work on trip itineraries and trip research between waterfall hikes at coffee shop on my M1 Air...then I back to the trails with my iPad to check in clients, show them maps of where we are, etc. makes the hike more interactive when we start out with visuals. I tried so hard to only use one device, but I've accepted that both is where it's at for me. Can you do another video about daily workflows between iPad and MacBook and the best apps/times to use each device? People like me want to integrate them, not choose between them
