Great overview of the event! Last time I went was all the way back in 2013 and it seems like they’ve added so much since then. I love how some of the mazes really pay homage to the story of the ship and celebrate her. Makes the whole event so unique from Knott’s Scary Farm or the Universal Halloween Horror nights. So cool how the ship is used and parts of it incorporated. A great vid as always sir!

I couldn't agree with you more on this! The last time I went to Queen Mary Dark Harbor was coincidentally in 2013, too, so I didn't really recognize any of the mazes in the video [except for the freak show, the circus (although in 2013 it wasn't nearly as elaborate as it was post-2013), and possibly the voodoo village (I remember being spooked by jump scares when I first walked into the village haha) ] I also absolutely love how much more details they have added to the mazes since, and paying homage to the ship itself in this way makes this Halloween event so unique and special. I don't normally like to go to Halloween events like Knott's Scary Farm or Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights, but I would most likely definitely go back to Queen Mary's Dark Harbor again, and even more so now after watching this video! 😊

The problem is the mazes and characters DO NOT pay homage to the real history of the Queen Mary. The operators of Dark Harbor use fake or altered stories as a selling point to justify the exploitation of a historical ship. For instance “Half Hatch Henry” is based on a fireman named John Pedder who was crushed in a watertight door in 1966. When Pedder’s family found out he was being turned into a Halloween monster for Dark Harbor, they spoke out and approached the QM operators asking them not to disrespect their deceased relative. Dark Harbor did not comply with their request. The real crime is the continued destruction of the Queen Mary’s historical spaces for this event. I was appalled at the extent to which this Halloween fiasco has altered the foreword areas of R deck, the cargo hold, and the boiler rooms. This madness needs to end. Their is no incentive to preserve these spaces if this event is allowed to grow uncheck throughout the Queen Mary each year.

I’m not a fan of Dark Harbor. Bring the ship back to her original state. That way generations from now will enjoy her and it will be more of a timeless experience.
