they should replace that even if you don't have wheel and tire. That's a factory defect not some freak accident that happens on the road like hitting a pot hole and the wheel breaks.

I have the wheel/tire package on my 23 CVO. Bent a rim riding....cost me $50 for a new rim and tire. Saved me a couple thousand dollars!

Sounds like wheel castings should be NDT'd before theyre even released to go further in production....makes me question quality control on these new bikes

Back in 2015 my CVO street glide had that problem. Lost ten pounds a week.Took the bike in told me they couldn’t find the leak said it was normal. It was under warranty so took it back again said it was normal so my wife had the same bike and never lost air like that. Went to get a new tire on rear and they found corrosion inside the rim. I said you owe me a new wheel, they told me bike wasn’t warranted anymore. So I said check the records and it will show you that I had the complaint, it didn’t matter. I bought a new wheel which pissed me off.

Do you believe that making a bunch of engine modifications on your bike also make your bike more susceptible to breakage or being less reliable? Most of the guys that I know that have 100% stock bikes also have very reliable bikes. It’s primarily the guys that make a bunch of modifications that have frequent visits to the shop. I’m not saying that you will have anything to do with it, but it’s just all of the mod guys are in and out of the shop all of the time it seems. I love your channel. Keep up the great work. What are your thoughts?

@@UnrulyRider I never said that all mod bikes break down. I just feel very confident that they have a higher failure rate as compared to stock. That is most likely one of the reasons that Harley is not comfortable, giving a warranty to a mod bike. I think that fact would be very difficult to debate. Mod bikes can be built to the exact specification of the bike owner however, sometimes the mods stretch acceptable tolerances of the design and that’s one of the reasons why you have increased failures. You can’t argue that fact. That’s not to say that a mod bike is not very fun. Very few mechanics are also engineers.

@@thomascampbell3763 Many of the parts offered buy aftermarket manufactures and even small shops are better quality and more reliable than the original part they replaced. Billet aluminum > cast aluminum. It's actually exceptionally easy for me to argue this point. Many of the components used to build HD's are manufactured in China with cheap products and quality of metal. American made CNC'ed billet aluminum parts are going to be A LOT STRONGER and lighter weight. They will also have tighter tolerances on fit/finish. Companies like Fueling, S&S, etc spend a heck of a lot of time in R&D of their parts... these parts are often put through MUCH more rigorous abuse than the stock parts developed by the Harley-Davidson. Yes, they have their own engineers. As far as mechanic is concerned, many indy shops have highly qualified technicians - some are HD master-techs that were previously employed at a dealership but moved on to their own shop, etc. Also, some Harley dealerships have techs that will take on side-work - they don't mind installing the higher quality aftermarket parts and they will even tell you they are better than OE or Screamin Eagle. Harley-Davidson builds these bikes at the lowest dollar they can, then they jack the prices up far above what they are worth. Stock HD's are terrible, and if I was told I'd have to leave my bikes stock - I'd buy something different.

You did pay a pretty penny for that. You say you didn't but you did. Get real about that. It wasn't road hazard damage(the wheel and tire coverage)...it was just a defective part that the base warranty would and must cover.

I always get wheel and tire protection now too; great to have in case needed and usually will pay for itself the first time you use it. With that said wouldn’t a casting issue be covered under your manufacture warranty? Seems like a defect on their end.

Happened in the late 80s and early 90s too to fix then was to just put a tube in it.

You can add Wheel and Tire before the factory service plan (warranty) expires.

Mate, that was a warranty job, nothing to do with a powertrain issue (your Stage 2 build), instead you appear to be more interested in taking care of your sweet-heart buddies at the dealership to score more HD brownie points for more all-expenses paid invitations to Harley events. You incorrectly and perhaps even unethically put a claim into the insurer for the new wheel instead of HD paying for it. IMO, HD has been treating a number of Pan America owners who are experiencing battery/starting issues (BTW, I am not one of them) with contempt by not fixing the problem so I have not much love for the MotorCo at the moment - and you doing them favours by saving them money via an insurance claim has no room in my house.

Thats a factory issue. I dont hate Harley but every time I see people paying for this stuff because they don't have a "plan" it makes me never want to buy one. Its almost like they knew it was an issue and either tried to nickle and dime you one way or the other. You did pay for it, you just paid early. It should be a free fix.

How did your factory warranty NOT cover it? If it didn’t… well… just another case of Harley-Davidson not really caring about their owners. (See owning an older Harley and a Harley Dealership saying “sorry… you took great care of our product and now need help, well we don’t work on your bike anymore. Why not trade it in for a new bike sir?). The worst.

I’ve had nothing but issues with my 2023. Fosgate sound system amp is going out, it’s only 8 months old. My engine from the start has burned over 2 quarts of oil in less than 3k. Left fork seal leaks, brake switch went out, upper fairing has bubbles in the paint and my tappet covers the chrome is uneven.

I have this warranty. I bend my front wheel .. I go to my dealer. He told okey .. the dealer supposly change my wheel.. 😂😂😂😂 just put weight in it .. I took my bike .. wow it's run good. I wash it and what I see on my front wheel the bend ..i go to another dealer. And the dealer check all the other dealer claim.. He claim nothing . Just put a patch and go $"3%3%2
