The Patient Story

Күн бұрын

Daniella shares her journey battling stage 2 primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma, a rare non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Her first symptoms were a cough that turned to bronchitis and night sweats. She was misdiagnosed with doctors saying it was pneumonia or possibly tuberculosis. She later got her cancer diagnosis after a CT scan revealed a large mass in her chest.
She underwent six rounds of R-EPOCH chemotherapy, followed by CAR-T cell therapy and radiation, experiencing side effects like hair loss, fatigue, and nausea. Despite challenges and setbacks, she eventually achieved remission.

She hadn't even had a chest x-ray when she was diagnosed with bronchitis and then pneumonia, so what were they basing these diagnoses on?! I can't stand the way doctors don't take the time to actually figure out what's wrong with people!

My mom and sister had Lymphoma. My mom had Hodgkin’s and my sister was later diagnosed with the exact same Lymphoma as you. She thought she had pneumonia and asked to get a chest X-ray … she was a an Interventional Radiology Nurse. She looked at the film herself and knew she had Lymphoma. She’d seen many X-rays in her career. It’s been 15 years and she is still cancer free. She had RCHOP chemo and radiation to her chest. Best of luck to you, we wish you good health always.

Bless your cousin for helping you solve your condition. You clearly show how its ALL YOU when you know your health needs help. Good job being fierce! I can tell you're still scared, which is good. You WILL have to stay diligent. While you may always be genetically susceptible, I still think its ultimately caused by an environmental trigger, perhaps one to avoid in the future? I lost two friends to this exact disease (the young cancer killer), one quite young, the other made it into her early 40's before it came back and finally got her. She said crows followed her for some time after she was initially cured. I still miss both of them so much, they we're so alive and full of life. They were both Italian/S. European. One of them couldn't smell. The other loved salt, he would just eat it plain. I always wondered if any of those things were correlated.

What a blessing your testimony is! You have been through so much! I completely understand what you mean about losing your identity and where do you go from here! Facing the unavoidable head on and being prepared to say ok this might be it or this is it puts you in such a different head space. Then after a time you learn no you are going to be here and now you have to reshape your life again. Even though it’s such a privilege to get to do it, it’s daunting and I know I felt like but what if comes back again? I don’t want to go through this loss yet again?! So it’s hard to thrust yourself over that fence to embrace the future when you had been preparing to not go over that fence. You are such an amazing person, I know you and your family will look back on this and appreciate how far and just what you had overcome.

I’ve been where you are. Saw my doctor as I had a swollen lymph node, was referred to the hospital who saw me within a week. Had a biopsy and scan plus bone marrow biopsy and was told it was stage 3 non Hodgkin Lymphoma in the abdomen. This all happened within 11 days. Went through chemotherapy for 8 months then preventative therapy for 2 years to prevent the tumours growing again. I’ve been in remission for 16 years now so it all worked out. By the way living in the UK all my treatment was free even my parking costs to visit the hospital was free. The best of luck to you.

@@scottiehall8695 Of course, nothing is free, it’s paid for as part of the our income tax but at least we don’t have to worry whenever we need to visit the hospital that it’s going to bankrupt us. Isn’t it better that everyone pays a bit then everyone has the benefit of it when they need it any other way is just selfish.

I think everything lined up for her like she says because she must have great health insurance. Idk what insurance would approve all these procedures so quickly. They would make you wait for approval or you have to wait for months for appointments as they deny. She also has youth on her side. I don't think they would care about her fertility treatments or her at all if she was beyond 33

I know the forgiveness part might seem irrelevant to this situation and story, but we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We all need forgiveness. If we accept the free gift of salvation that only comes from Jesus, who died on the cross in our place for our sins, we will be justified for our sins. God is merciful and He heals! We need Jesus❤
