I love my Tramontinas. I have others but I love the ring of the Tramontina steel.👌🏼 Unfortunately, I don’t have as much to chop as you do (mine are shiny) but I do enjoy using them.

I own a Tramontina 18 inch, cold steel 2 handed latin machete, cold steel kopis machete, a 3$ no namer, sog sogfari, and a gerber gator ( many of us have a gerber phase). The Tramontina is my favorite. I live in Maryland so I don't use them a whole lot. Mostly for clearing a trail to a fishing hole. I know you have forgotten more about machetes then I'll ever know. But I put ranger bands (cut up inner tube) on my Tramontina and it significantly improved the grip.

PANGA MACHETES The Panga Machete design popular in Africa and the Caribbean. Its deep belly provides weight for chopping and curvature for slicing. The upturned point can concentrate force on a small area for piercing. Place of Origin: Africa Uses: Good for slicing and chopping moderately thick woody vegetation. Alternative Names: Burriquito, Daga, Liniero, Rozador

Machete's are my favorite tool as well, the one I have is a Ozark Trail sawback machete

Hi, my friend, the panga that you show in video, is very similar to a typical machete where I live (Los Andes, Venezuela) that is called "charapo"; Is almost the same but most thin and not so wide at the tip and has a sharp edge due to the curvature, which helps to cut lighter vegetation. Cesar.

Good choices. As someone originally from the Caribbean, I too get a chuckle out of much that is said (and done) in the North American outdoors community when it comes to machetes. Although they are not as popular in the US, Martindale is another really good machete maker. I've also been quite pleased with Cold Steel, despite their production of a number of more gimmicky machetes. Some of their offerings are actually functional tools, made from decent steel, durable, and easily modifiable.

H.I.S Survival Yeah, I used to do a lot of hiking and camping in bona fide tropical rainforests, very similar to South American territory. I miss that.

Say HeahGabe, What poisoness snakes do you run into wearing shorts. Anyhow, I have a Cindor Wilderness Tool that recently I teamed up with my S. O. G. Seal Pup Elite TiNi. a great wet and snowy combo just for a stroll for a afternoon delight. Yup a coffee and a cigar. The Wilderness Tool is a compact modified Billhook and along that curved edge I can also use it as a good slicer, The top is a chisel grind with two hatchet bits that I use to chop and split kinfling especially with the smaller bit, I also can use it to dig roots for cordage and firepits and kitty holes. It's about a pound and made in the 420HC a good all weather tool especially building a camp. ,, .

Yeah! The Panga! Our Trademark in Puerto Rico! Although its used all around the Caribbean and Africa! Yes its in our DNA that thing! Its tool/Weapon for us; i even cut a palm tree with one of those,and I mean a full grown 12 inches thick one; took me about 15 to 20 minutes and some exercise but,down it went! Its what I choose for bugout bags and camping/hiking,along with my knife and hatchet! They are Good!

Machetes have their uses I'm sure, I'm not very familiar with them and I have some. So lol I fall under the chopped once category haha. Great video. Inspires me to try them out and get some limbs and shrubs down to size.

How do you feel about cold steel machetes?
@Wildwestwrangler3 жыл бұрын
Even in axe areas I still almost prefer a machete due to tearing my spinal cord. I have an axe and hatchet, but find the axe much harder on my back. Physically the machete if needed is easier on me cause I can use my good arm and let the machete do the work. Just takes me a lot longer to do things, but it's the only way I can survive.

Say Heah Gabie, Aloha, Yeah, what a difference, in my neck of the woods, I use a little thicker machetes. My Fav. is my Rodent Rucki, Yeah, I can chop trees with it and the Choil allows me to finish a fine task. Then my Johnson Adventure Parangatang it's my 14" Machete, a real good clearing Machete. I also like my, Woodsman Pal Premium, Used by the Military. My woods need a little thicker Machete. Oh, I have my Military Issue O. K. C. 18",and for big clearing jobs my Vintage Blackie Collin Heavy Duty 22" with knuckle guard, It tires your arm out, But clears like a hot knife through butter. I just fixed my Modified Mad Hatter, now it matches my Modified Attitude. A lovely piece of kit. Mahalo.,,. p
