Just had Fireplace Stone and Patio do our fireplace wall for our wood cook stove. We're waiting on a few more hearthstones. Total Area covered is just shy of 5' x 8' with a couple angles so all said and done 10 full 19x20 stones and 10 cut down stones. We went with Dutch Quality Stone Weather Ledge in color Winter Point. Hearthstones are I believe their Grey. I believe Miles from Fireplace Services will be doing the pipe install. Being a wood cookstove (J.A. Roby Cuisiniere) no one sold them local so no one will do an install on stuff they didn't sell so Miles was recommended.

I would NEVER have carpet around a bar area.. That’s just asking for stain after stain.. Stay blessed @Brad !!

You have a lot going on with that remodel. Looking good!!! Not sure how LVP would look mixed with carpet…. Tom did a great job trimming out those windows. Very modern looking….

Theo, actually the LVT or tile…anything would look better than have carpet around a bar!👍.

I'd be willing to bet that most people have no idea how much stuff is behind the walls that keep their houses running on a daily basis. And also that someone had to figure out how to do it in the first place. 👍🎺🎺

Hey brad, long time.retired electrician here.served most of my aprenticeship in oil refineries in Tx.ended my career specializing in renos on 150/ 200yr old houses and mansions.i miss it.homes with 150 + yr old foundations and rough hewn wood .iron wood .plan on burning up 1 greenlee auger a week.nail eaters they were called ,still burned them up.vermiculite was the insulation of choice back in the day.remediation hell.lead paint reno hell.plaster lathing ? Reno hell.i wonder how i could possibly miss that.but yet i do.good luck with the homeowners changing plans constantly.more reno hell.reno,d my own condo end unit prior to wedding.all cedar shake siding ,whole place.went nuts finding similar.installed it primed it etc.expensive.5/6 mos later hoa voted to install vynill siding.really? Like they didnt know that was a agenda while i dropped 10 k on wood, carpenter and painter.geez i,m glad i moved to Tn and bought a turnkey( basically turnkey, installed, new lights, fans and whole house generator ,roof and windows) .still had a active Briggs & Stratton sales installer rep status in place ,saved thousands.)🤑

@@BradtheBuilder belive it.local timber, local saw mills.even wall framing still had bark on it.oak flooring, joices, field stone foundations.mounting simple stuff like washer dryer outlets was a headache on that kind of rock.put your level away and worry more about stability.🙄

Hey Brad,Max must have screamed to high heaven 😢! Growing up we had a real wood burning fireplace . We had to talk my Mum into at least a glass door to keep the heat from going up,She loved her live flame! Living in VT I have used woodstoves. It always amazes me the difference in styles, tear it out ! I hope you get caught up friend🙏😊 💗🌸🌺🐦🌷🌈 Spring they say🤭. JO JO IN VT 💞

Hi Brad - this was a really interesting video. It's very informative to see it all through your eyes. I definitely would do stone on the chimney. I think it is an opportunity to tie in a bit more of that accent feature over the stucco. I feel like if it's stucco, it's just gonna look like a plain old chimney-blob sticking up, whereas if they choose stone, at least it has a nice finished look to it and it ties in the other stone that is on the front of the house. I find that when you can put a nicer finish on something that is typically ugly or an eye soar, or at the minimum boring, it helps to make the home look like it's nicely finished. You know the saying about putting lipstick on a pig is irrelevant because it's still a pig? Well you can also say that the pig with the lipstick is more interesting than the one without! There ya go... my thoughts on the stucco vs stone on the chimney. I'm interested to see what they decide now, haha! Hope all is well, Heather🇨🇦

I like your Pig analogy! 😜 Did you know I own part of a 10,000 head Hog Confinement… my Dad use to drive a semi full of Hogs when he was younger. So my family loves pigs 🐷

@@BradtheBuilder I certainly didn't know about your pig confinement biz! You must be able to answer a bunch of Andrew's questions where pigs are concerned, haha. I can't remember what the "new" pig is called, but Deb is hilarious. Thanks for the note back, Brad.

We have one of each , gas and wood burning. Gas is easier and more efficient, but there is nothing like wood heat. A lot dirtier though

we seem to not have the patience or the time to build a real wood-burning fire so the gas ones sapphire need for instant fire! 🔥

Maybe when you pushed the button to turn all the lights off, you just had to wait a second for them to go out. 🤔 Always remember and never forget, when someone asks you where were you when the lights went out ? The correct answer is always, in the dark ! 🎺😜🎺

Not for homeowners who have a house worth several million dollars and have a budget of several hundred thousand to remodel. no it’s not a lot of money for them. I’m sure they can afford it. If they couldn’t they wouldn’t be buying it..
