Nep, I know you mention how your team is not competitive/meta enough to compete with other teams but I don’t think majority of us viewers are watching your content to watch “meta gameplay”. I’m genuinely enjoying watching an Arsenal evo team evolve day to day even though I’m not an Arsenal fan. As a city fan, I don’t have many options to evo a full city squad and seeing you evolve a silver Arsenal player to a 85+ rated card is genuinely exciting to me. I know you being a content creator makes you have the burden of performing well but seeing that you have the same gameplay struggles as I do makes this series more relatable to the rest of us. Anyways, keep up the great work, truly am enjoying the series.

I’ve been using the 4231 Striker stay forward, central get in behind, Same for my right cf, left cf balanced with come back on defence Left cm stay back while attacking cover centre, same for centre cm, right cm cover wing, get into box for crosses Left back stay back while attacking, right back get forward and overlap and it’s been a game changer for me. Consistently getting 14 wins in champs from I’ve made the switch Love the series btw

I had the same issue you have with pries finesse shots with my Leao trailblazer. I took the shooting boost chem style off went with an engine and as you said starting taking them a yard further back and they seem to have that looped arched trajectory rather than the fast flat route they took before. Score them way more consistently since.

At the start of the game I had an account purely for arsenal and one meta which led me to evoing Danjuma who now is rotting away in my club, watching the series has made me only evo arsenal players onwards and I find much more enjoyment doing so. Great series Nep keep up the good work 👍

To be honest, the best formation that has worked for me this year has been the 352. Having that continuity between the center-backs the defensive mids, the cam then the strikers, while having two wide players that can get up and down the flanks has been extremely useful. It's a lot easier to hold possession when you have multiple passing options and the center and the left mid and right mid tend to be open on the opposite side for long diagonal balls if you need to relieve pressure from the opponent's high press. I can play defensive, offensive, possession and counter with this formation and other than the 433(5) seems to be the only on that works for me this year

I really recommend the 4-3-3 (5) i believe the one with 1 cdm and 1 cf I recommend using a tall striker with pace and heading like a haland or guirassy or voller Then use meta players at every other position, pacey wingers and overlapping fullbacks with whipped cross.

I would say up to fifa 16 it was fun watching the fifa gameplay, because there were alot of different types of players you could buy and use. Nobody except coin buyers and such had mega teams, it was all cheap/ semi cheap teams of your own choice. After fifa 17 dropped, people had unlimited access to coins and people could afford the best of the best more often, plus there was a specific meta (which i didnt really experience imo in previous fifas). With meta I mean just 1 specific way to score loads of goals, prior to 17 there were multiple playstyles to score alot of goals. Also prior to fifa 17, lower rated cards were also fun to use.

4-1-2-1-2 narrow has worked for me since the very beginning of the game, could be worth a shot. Think the triangles upfront is key and with wide formations attackers get too far apart from each other for linkups

Hi Nep. I’m following a similar path to you ie evolving players I like (preferably Liverpool players). This is my favourite fifa for a long time and I’ve been playing since World Cup 98 on the PlayStation. I’ve found that this year I’m quite competitive online when people play “properly” but the cut back goals are killing the fun for me. I lost a game 8-4 yesterday. 2 of my goals were from outside the box, one was a cross and the other was from a dribble. 6 of my opponent’s goals were cut backs and the other 2 were penalties because I got frustrated.

For example, I'm a Chelsea fan and am building a Chelsea inspired squad, BUT chelsea are shit, so i haven't beaten myself up for not evoing Jackson as I'm a fan of Hwang Hee (who i evoed and he does bits). The same thing happens every year - the game is tuned to be balanced around 80-85 rated cards, and then by November when everyone has 88+ meta teams the game is unbalanced and feels broken. What's the solution? Patch Ultimate team every month or so to rebalance it so the best cards get gradually worse? But then they can't do that because people spent real money on those broken cards.

The problem is your essentially fucking yourself over by having fun with the game. Evos are such a breath of fresh air and the best thing to happen to Fifa in a long long time, but its still WAY too easy to build a meta squad that will just instantly have a considerable edge over those fun evo cards. There needs to be some sort of matchmaking / different modes within rivals that allow you to still climb divisions and earn better rewards whilst playing teams of the similar calibre.

The problem is you are not good enough, plain and simple. You are getting destroyed and all the time you lose or go on a losing streak you blame the team. Nobody has told you to play with a FULL Arsenal team it’s your choice, you can’t say you are enjoying this team when winning but blame the team when losing. Hi nep, when we talk about ‘the meta’ I find this actually quite enjoyable in the fact we have so many different ways of scoring goals, we all get frustrated by it and blame the game but we all have the capabilities of making use of them. I remember in previous games we only had 1 or 2 effective/efficient ways of scoring goals

Are all playing the same way. 71depth, run down the wing (back post cross, cut back into the back, or pass to edge of box for a finesse or trav shot. Would love EA to post pass distribution of 14-16 win WL players. Hardly anything would be through the centre. It’s possible to play that way, but you’re hurting yourself by doing that

The cut backs are mentioned the most but that’s only because every player can score them(they don’t need play styles to score) but I remember a few years ago when 9/10 goals were scored at the near post. Trying to do evos in the friendly mode and paying it is making evos completely unenjoyable. You need to win games but people quit at 0-0 or 1-1. I ended up doing golden goal on my part but any game I was winning the other person wouldn't quit no matter how bad they were getting smashed. Most frustrating thing this year with WL for me

Really really enjoying this and I don’t want you stopping due to its being behind the meta you are talking about 10% if that of the people who care about meta, also it might help you slow down the progression on this team as I think sometimes that can be the down fall as you invest so much time you don’t see the benefits as you can’t just buy VVD etc, really hope you stick with this as will be a shame to people who really prefer seeing fifa as a game not program you have to complete
