The 720s is one of the fastest cars in production. It is an easy 1/2 sec quicker to 60 mph and a full second faster in the quarter than the N-Largo. The N -Largo also weighs nearly 1/2 a ton more. Michael is awesome but 720s is insane fast

The idea of the paddle shifters that move with your wheel only works if you keep your hands in one place (as you should) not keep wondering with them on the wheel on the smallest turns. The only moment you need to change your hand position is when you're parking or doing a U turn :)

I have a tendency to do hand over hand method myself in turns that aren’t aggressive.and had an rx8 with the paddle shifters. I had to train myself muscle memory wise to stay “dialed in” at 10 and 2 when using the race paddles setting. You’d be surprised how many of us practice poor driving habits. Mclaren have been plagued by several issues such as reliability, quality control and depreciation. Having said that, I've watched a few drag races between Ferrari and Mclaren and for the most part, the Mclaren has taken a convincing win. In a drag race between the 720 and Nlargo, I think the 720 will either keep up or even just beat it.

Paddle shifts on the Mclaren are in the right place Michael, same as the AMG GT. If you're driving a car so quickly you need manual mode, you shouldn't be moving your hands around on the wheel, that way you always know where straight ahead is and the shifters will always be under your fingertips. If you're driving on a public road and the bends are so tight you need to move your hands, you should in automatic mode and not using the paddles.

Michael's taste in cars matches his taste in clothing. It's...eccentric, to put it nicely. But I would never call it elegant/sophisticated, so it's odd that he thinks his Ferrari has sophistication which McLaren lacks. In any case, all the wheels Michael seems to like are horrendous, including the ones on all the cars in the video. Really cannot understand what anyone would like about them. Meanwhile, he dislikes McLaren's standard wheels, which are at least fine in most cases. Ferrari's stock wheels tend to be more lame (e.g. the ones on the 812).

What I love about those fancy cars isn't the performance. A basic Kia or Ford can be pushed to really amazing levels (that is fact lol). What I love about fancy cars is the details, like the color of seat stitching, exactly matching the color of the steering wheel stitching. Normally one company makes the seat, and another company makes the steering wheel. It cannot be that hard to give both companies the same thread (from the same thread supplier). Kia, Ford, etc, often don't do that. I cannot imagine it costs that much extra to make details perfect during a cars production, maybe it does.

Also, I'm no pro driver, but I believe you're not supposed to move your hands around like he is in the turns. So the paddles moving with the steering wheel wouldn't be an issue if you kept your hands on the wheel.

When I canyon drive ain't no way I can keep my hands 'properly' on the wheel. I personally hate wheel-mounted paddles. There's a reason Ferrari, Lambo, and AM mount them on the column.

Keep your hands at 9 - 3 & shifting with those paddles is easy, it has a fairly quick steering rack so no real need to move your hands from the 9 - 3 position on most roads

First lesson on performance driving is locating your hands on the steering wheel. Both Ferrari and McLaren run performance driving schools: Corso Pilota and McLaren Performance Academy respectively. Mclaren 720S - Acceleration is bad but after 60-70mph mark the power kicks in and it just goes light speed. It is a damn fast car.
