Rich, not sure if you know Mike Linn here at youtube but he's got stage 4 melanoma and is currently in remission. He's a great source of info on his particular type of cancer and he might be able to help you since you and he have a lot in common. He's also very gung ho and assertive about his care and treatment. Best of luck to you and I'm praying for your full recovery.

My brother had subungal melanoma ( small dark spot under his thumb nail), we thought nothing of it and maybe he hit it while at work, but it started to grow fast and the primary doctor told him to put neosporin ointment on it and come back in 6 weeks…. What a mistake. He finally had it biopsies after going into the ER and it was melanoma. Amputation of thumb did not save him since it had spread to lymph. It was the headache that took him to the MD and he had tumors in his brain. Chemo did nothing. He went so quick. This was 2013. I am glad to hear treatment for melanoma has advanced and hopefully folks with melanoma can now look forward to a healthy lifespan.

I know there's a month dedicated to melanoma awareness, but I don't think there's really enough information. I'm with Rich - I never gave it much thought, and I know we're not alone. Even when I found out I had it, I didn't think much of it. When I told various people, they basically just shrugged it off because it's always just assumed it'll be cut out (and in very early cases, the person is given a cream) and that's it. It wasn't until after I had surgery that I started searching out more information. I was fortunate that mine turned out to be stage 1, even though I had a spot on my leg for a year and a half.

@@annipsy2185 Definitely get checked. It's not as "awkward" as you'd think it would be. I wish I could convince my mom, but she's too conservative.

Did you get the Covid vaccine?
@sueu6263 Жыл бұрын
Why do you ask that ?
@noelle122510 ай бұрын
Good question. There is absolutely no correlation between the Covid vaccine, or any vaccine, and any type of cancer.
@Ragdollcatlover10 ай бұрын
@@sueu6263because some idiots think they are immune to cancer if they didn’t get vaccinated against Covid. As if cancer didn’t exist before. They can’t cope with the reality that any one of us can get sick and die.

There's unfortunately misinformation going around, falsely linking cancers to the COVID vaccine. Don't fall for it!!
