I'm a 16 year old HS Senior, gonna be 17 soon. its 7/2/18 . I suffer from depression, anxiety, and of course lastly DP/DR. I've had it 3 years now but honestly this year I its peak! Idk about you but same here I feel detached from reality, time, and basic knowledge. I used to be bright, smart,, bubbly and happy. Now i get picked on and am probably failing school. I'm scared about my future and graduating. Which made me realize Mental health matters and is no joke. I do stress alot. Your brain can't handle overloaded stress. I'm seeking help now for depression, anxiety, I and it's fresh. Been to 2 sessions It's Going good, but I'm more focused on my derealization. I think My therapists might not know too much about DR/DP. Ill still try and seek help though. Well that's all. Im glad you're getting better and inspiring others about their mental health and recovery. It's key to great lives. Thank you and may you continue doing well

Thank you for making this video. You are very articulate and great at free speaking. I recovered from Depersonalization/Derealization and some of the worst panic attacks in the history of time. Stay cool!

Hey, i'm from Canada too. I'm from the westcoast where it's dark and cloudy half of the year, it makes it really difficult to stay awake during the day when going through this.

try and do things that keep you focused! painting, reading, exercising, etc! it helped me!

Tara Leigh hey thanks for the reply! yeah I started roofing and working outside instead of a job inside. the physical work doesn't make it go away, but it's hard to focus on it when lifting 100lbs bundles up ladders for 14 hours! I'm also a musician so that helps alot.

Hi, i'm from Brazil, i have been going through dr/dp for 1 month and now i'm feeling much better with therapy and medication, but i'm still thinking, most of the time, if i'm really cured, or if everything it's ok, cuz i'm afraid of feeling those things again or forever 😭 - sorry about my english
@taraleigh44447 жыл бұрын
i completely understand what you mean! but honestly just try and accept that what will be will be, and you are only making it worse by worrying about it! the less you worry the less likely it will come back! and if it does, you made it go away once you can do it again :)

Hi, I've been going through derealization/depersonalization for 2 months and I tried Paxil but the side effects were terrible. Did you have any really negative side effects on Zoloft? I'm thinking about trying out a new SSRI
@taraleigh44447 жыл бұрын
Kelsey Harris for me the Zoloft was perfect but it's different for everyone!
@kelseynichole62987 жыл бұрын
My psychiatrist prescribed me Zoloft as well today. I hope it's as promising for me lol. I'm also taking lamictal with it. Did you take that? Or just an SSRI?
@taraleigh44447 жыл бұрын
i was prescribed clonazepam and trazodone!
@kelseynichole62987 жыл бұрын
Hi srry to bother u again but how much were u taking of the clonazepam? I'm taking half a mg and feeling hardly any affects
@taraleigh44447 жыл бұрын
Kelsey Harris I rarely ever took it only if I was having a really bad day so I'm not sure !
@holyhelpme7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I was wondering how long after starting Zoloft did you start to feel normal again and how long it took for the depersonalization feeling to go away? Also, what is your Zoloft dosage if you don't mind me asking? I was prescribed 150mg, but I think that's way too much so I haven't started taking it yet. Thank you for the vid!
@taraleigh44447 жыл бұрын
approx 3 months of gradual improvement until i was mostly back to normal, 100mg of sertraline daily, but i am definitely not a health care professional so i am unsure of what dosage will work for you!
