such a Dream Car, sorry that u have been scammed.. I have the 2011 CLS 500 V8 BiTurbo. Bought it with 110k Miles with no history and many Preowner.. but I Love That Car Bought it for 25k €. getting so many compliments on that CAR. doing the Oil Service and Changing the Airfiltern and Cabinefilters by my own so i can save so much Money. Everything trained by myself with KZbin. Well I got it in August 2023 So, 1 Year now. Everytime I get in the Car I smile Because its such a beauty and Beast.

I think you just got super unlucky with that car. I bought my 2014 CLS 63 AMG S at 70,000 miles and am at 85,500 miles and have had zero issues knock on wood. The only issue i had was a front left control arm and a leaking grease boot for one of the axles. Other than that it's pretty reliable.

Unlucky bro, enjoyed your video. For the m157 I recommend checking the cam position sensors and cam solenoid wiring harness connections for oil, can reach your ecu and screw it up, easy DIY fix. also remember to disconnect the stupid oil pump solenoid connection so the engine has normal oil pressure at all rpms. And always run 98 premium fuel!

I also drive a CLS 63 AMG, which I bought in 2018 when it was four years old and had only 65,000 km. This is my first 4WD AMG, which performs brilliantly in snow or other adverse road conditions. At high speeds on highways, it handles bends with effortless precision. With a 40:60 front-to-rear power distribution, excellent gearing, and a fantastic suspension, it leaves many other sports cars far behind. You bought a second-hand premium brand luxury car, so naturally, repairs and replacement parts come at a high price. You might be lucky for a while, but sooner or later, the bills come. When you purchased this car, it seems you ignored clear signs, such as the spray-painted grill and the amateurishly applied window film, indicating that the car was probably not in the best hands before you bought it. It is normal for tires to require replacement after some time. This is more related to the milage, power of the car, driving style, tire pressure, and other factors rather than the weight of the car. If you experience excessive tire wear on the front wheels, your car might need a wheel alignment. Regarding oil consumption, I am now driving my fourth AMG. Once the engines surpassed 200,000 km, their oil consumption became excessive. Today, I have little trust in aluminum engine blocks and the various technologies designed to make cylinder liners more durable, such as Silitec and similar methods, which seem more like afterthoughts to me. It’s almost a miracle that most of these engines still last reasonably long. I sold one of the cars with 430,000 km, two with approximately 350,000 km, but I also had one complete engine breakdown at 250,000 km. I expect the new engines, which extract even more power from smaller sizes, to start failing even earlier, regardless of the manufacturer. Never buy second-hand cars from shady dealers, „idiot drivers“, people who tamper with them without proper knowledge, or those who tune engines additionally. Ideally, buy a second-hand car from an authorized or any other reputable dealer who has a long-term interest in you as a customer, or directly from a pre-owner you know. Avoid cars that have changed hands multiple times. Make sure that any car you buy has a full service history with the manufacturer and has been regularly serviced according to the maker‘s recommendations. Some people believe that by buying a second-hand car, they can drive at a low cost a luxury vehicle they couldn’t afford when it was new. This might turn out to be a misconception. If you can’t keep up with the maintenance costs, it’s probably good that you sold your car in time.

Same thing when I bough a 2010 c63. Only lasted me a week , Headbolts , lifters , cams, camshaft adjusters. All in cost me 4500 to get back on the road. Car got totaled 3 months later 😢

Definitely one of those unlucky cases cuz these cars in general are super reliable ofc more expensive than others but for what you get beyond worth it I will say tho your biggest mistake was not getting it inspected or learning of all these possible “common” issues beforehand I did 3 months of research before I bought my 2014 CLS550 almost a year later and lots of miles (145k now) it’s the best car I’ve ever owned and will pay whatever I have to to keep her going I got a few shorts on my channel of it with a straight piped exhaust I think that should be your next mod 😁👍🏼

Definitely don't think you got scammed. It's a super high maintenance car. And if the owner before didn't properly care for it, you'd inherit ALL of the issues. Unlucky but that is the gamble with used luxury cars.

3:10 right from this moment I would say hard NO to the car. if owner can't maintain airmatic suspension properly and get it to this stage, for sure engine, transmission and other components will be cooked. you have to be REALLY unresponsible to get CLS63 especially W218 gen to be maintenance nightmare like this, I own one myself, 2014 AWD PRE LCI, tuned to about 800 hp for last 10k miles, I have no issues with the car. they do come with LSD differential btw, but it was an optional extra because LSD diff is not ideal in heavy rain and it can be deadly for ones that can't drive, lots of people that can't drive buy it because its an luxury car with massaged cold & heated seats but they don't think about engine and power this car has. do your own homework before buying a car in the future and you won't be disappointed like that. P.S I haven't watched video fully, I don't know if you mention that you had to do your own research etc, I just knew what the issue was when you started talking about it not having LSD diff and showed picture of the car with fed up suspension saying it looked good.

By 2017 they've sort out a lot of the issues the early m157s had such as the timing chain and cylinder walls, so it'll be a solid purchase. Avoid models pre-2012 (except for me, the one in the video is 2011 because i like to live life on the edge)

I've learned that reliabilty is subjective lol Toyota reliability? definitely not. But it's considered 'reliable' in the old german hooptie world. For this car specifically, I never really had a problem with the engine and driveline but it's always something else, and when something breaks it can be expensive

No matter how you adore the car that already done of warranty period, just dont buy it. Got lots of money then better choose brand new car, start to save more money so every 5 years (when the warranty is done) u can always upgrade to newer one.
