My Messy-ish mixed media sketchbook - tour

My messy-ish seawhite of brighton mixed media sketchbook tour. I usually keep separate sketchbooks for different subjects, medias and times... but in this sketchbook, I allowed myself to do whatever I liked! It replaced my Royal Talens Sketchbook (though it is a great price, i don't find it enjoyable to use watercolours or gouache or many wet mediums inside it - it is just about acceptable). The seawhite of brighton on the otherhand ... was lovely to use! I only wish it had more pages.
It cold pressed cellulose paper, handles different medias well, is affordable (in the UK) and works well for me as an anything goes sketchbook.

There's so much content to see in a beginner's sketchbook and I find it more inspiring than professional artist artwork. If you look at professional artwork everything is perfect and flawless, while in a beginner's sketchbook you see so many swatches, ideas and different compositions etc. Thank you for upload, pretty hair lady 😊😊

I have a messy, try anything sketchbook too - it’s one I made myself from a full sheet of Arches paper. I use it to try all the things I’m afraid to do in my “good” sketchbooks, but it’s still my favorite paper! Lately I’ve used it for trying out watercolor pencils, neocolor ii’s, and Derwent Inktense pencils.

Your videos are so inspiring! I went to Poland to see a friend and I couldn't stop myself I had to buy some Roman szmal since you love them and man I'm sad I didn't try them before 😩😩😩 they're so good ! I'm so used to tubes and my 9 mission gold that I've been using forever so it was a bit hard but also a lot of fun to explore more with them so thank you for that ! And also I did a travel spread for the first time because your malta and Venice vlog inspired me so much I had to try to paint a little bit of my travel and the best moments with my friends. I've never worked so quickly on my sketchbooks before but since I've started following you I'm already half way through an A5 (30 pages only but still) thank you for the new video have a great day !

I just discovered Canson's Graduate series and am using an A5 Mixed Media in that series and am really enjoying suddenly an ability to play and explore. I also bought at the same time an A4 Watercolor in the Graduate series. Haven't done anything in that yet. In the A5 I've done color mixing for the watercolor palette I created to take on an Alaskan cruise coming up soon. Thanks for sharing. Love all the gold metallic.

I have the HIMI (24) Gouache. Thought it was a good beginner set. I haven’t really used them so swatching will be a good place to start. I love seeing how people use them and what they can create!
