I am just learning the miracle which is texturizing spray/powder. I do a similar crazy updo, and I think the texturizing spray would help SO MUCH. Basically, if your clean, unmolested hair is too soft and slippy to get it to do much, texturizing products will be your best friend. :)

This is a very clever way to use a clip for messy textured hair. I know for me a clip weighs my hair down since it's very fine, but I could see this method working for my hair when it was longer. Super cute! Also, you sound just like Charlize Theron and now that's all I see and hear when I watch your vids haha

I love that you use a clip. I started doing that because hair ties pull on my heavy hair sooo bad. I actually have a very small bald spot from the tension… hence why I started doing a very similar hair style as yours.

Love this hairstyle! I often do my hair quite similarly to this but I don't have as much lovely long hair as you! (mine is shorter and thinner) so instead of a claw clip I tie it loosely in a kind of high ponytail and don't pull the hair through on the last wrap around and then pin random bits and pieces of the loop/bun thing down with bobby pins

You hair is so shiny and black, what hair dye do you use? I always have so much trouble trying to keep black in my hair, i have been dying my hair black for over 10 years now and it still fades so fast and my natural colour comes through.

Aw thanks Rachel!! And yeah, if you have more hair, I think a bigger clip would do well.. Some of the bigger ones I can't use b/c I don't have enough hair - that's why I like the more narrow, oval shaped ones - smaller clip for less hair.

Sara Monster general reply but I don't fully understand how you tube works!! I do the same sort of shove it in and spray it vibe. I have longer hair and I just use the big clip and a smaller one and hold the top section with bobby pins (as you also mentioned can do). This works for the larger birds nest messy hive or messy back style, been doing it for years.Love that your video is so real. Your makeup and hair is wonderful. I find you tubers pretty annoying but I'm addicted to yours it's really great,and goth too hell yeah!! 💀🦇

I have a fantastic hair dresser that I normally go to and I don't know what she uses - but for my emergencies when I need to color it and can't get in to her, I use Nice 'n Easy (the blue black shade) and it works very well for those times!

Hope this isn’t too personal, but do you dye your hair? It is such a beautiful shade of black, and looks so healthy and shiny. It doesn’t have the dull monotone “crunchy” black that I see so often with hair that has been dyed.

So lovely. I have two questions which if you've answered already I'm sorry; Do you dye your hair? Because it doesn't (at least in this light) to be a 'box' black, but more of a natural black? (If so, do you do it or go to the salon?) Second, My hair is long and thin-ish, and HATES staying in place (no curls last other than rag rolls), do you have to take it down and put it back up during the day/night?

I usually do go to a hair stylist/colorist, but use Nice 'n Easy Blue Black for emergency times! And if i don't use quit a bit of hair spray, I probably have to take it down and redo it, or at least readjust it a time or two if it's up for a 12 hour day :)
