MG3 fuel pumps are not known for there longevity unfortunately! I had one go on my 2013 3 after only 50k miles. The telltale sign was there was no priming noise. If you banged the bottom of the tank I could get it to start but stop shortly after. I had the MG dealer replace it but now I've seen it done I feel confident to do it myself. Another great video from yourself.

Mine's on 53,000, I've replaced them at lower miles than that. I kicked the bottom of the tank and it started but wouldn't stay running long enough to get back home so had to tow it.

Hi Broken piston, I have a MG3 xross, 2016 challenge car from the beginning. Tend to stall when you're in a hurry, so far I replaced the ecc, alternator, radiator (btw thanks for how to replace the radiator video) there is a container with black oil in it it seems to some what low, do you know what kind of oil, gear oil maybe is ther a specific rate I need to top it up with, thanks in advance , David from one happy Island Aruba.

The only container I think you are talking about is the power steering reservoir, the oil should be red and it's ATF dextron lll. Beautiful island you live on by the way.

Nice one mate, thought instantly from your description it sounded like a fuel problem. What sort of money was the pump sender unit? And how old is your car and mileage it failed at? My neighbour has a 2018 mg zs, have you had any of the pumps fail on those coming onto your workshop, for future reference in case I ever get a breakdown call off my neighbour, cheers mate, keep up the great content👍

£160 I think. Not 100% sure till I go back to work on Monday and pay for it. Car is 2016 and it's on 53,000 miles. I've never seen a ZS pump fail in the 6 or so years I've been at MG.

Dzień dobry jestem Polakiem jeżdżę mg ZS rocznik 2023. Mam silnik 1,5 benzynowy o kodzie 15 s4c 106 koni mechanicznych. Jaki pan zaleca olej do tego silnika? Producent podaje olej silnikowy 0w20. Ale mieszkam i pracuje we Francji więc tutaj w tym klimacie może warto stosować inny olej? Proszę o poradę dziękuję i dobrego dnia.

really wanting to do a shifter replacement on my 2016 model, any idea if its even possible since its not a screw knob, and if so how would i go about it?

Yes it's possible. There are universal kits on ebay.

What mileage did it fail ? Looked a little grubby on top of the pump.

53,000. It will be dirty on top as it's exposed to all the road grime.
