In manual it tells like why ripple is high mean what?
@pistonbroke2 күн бұрын
Alternator generates AC current, a bridge rectifier converts AC to DC, the DC current needs to be as smooth as possible, there will always be a slight ripple. Too much ripple means one or more diodes have failed in the bridge rectifier.

Long time, my man! On the live data, is it only showing open/closed for the MG? Like, if you plug it into another brand of car will it give you numbers? Like you said, seems like a nice bit of kit! Take care.

It more than likely would be different for other brands, I've not tried it yet though

Good review mate and long time no see. Good that it covers saic mg. But like you said, strange that live data shows no figures, just open or close. My main go to tool is my delphi ds150e, but unfortunately it does not cover the saic mg. So about 18 months ago my neighbour bought a 2018 mg zs. So I had to look around for some gear. I finally decided on the topdon artidiag 800BT and find it great for the price, and also includes free updates for life. So many diag scanners to choose from now on the market.
@pistonbroke4 күн бұрын
What I should have done was used the obd live data, it would give the figures.
@markslade97224 күн бұрын
@pistonbroke ah right, nice one. I would imagine it would also have a graph view and you could load like up to about four different items at a time to view. My topdon shows figures also for live data when under the designated ECU, but it was a little more in price than the xtool you have here. Great that you get free updates for life, so don't have to worry about yearly subscription costs.

7 years old would make it a 2017 model, these don't suffer with chain problems. Anyway the answer is no, once it's out of warranty then MG wont cover it, It's the same with any product be it a tv, microwave or whatever.

Hello mate, I’m looking to change my cam belt but also have a bit of a rattle when just starting to pull out of a junction so going to do small chain and tench between cams, my question is is there timing marks on the small chains to the cams, I didn’t see it on the video sorry if you have already covered this.
@pistonbroke28 күн бұрын
There's coloured links on the chain which line up with marks on the cam gears.
@richardyates1033Ай бұрын
The disc appears to be scored. It should be replaced as well. Since the bearing and hub are one assembly, get rid of the hub with the rotor still attached. Don't waste time separating them as neither will be used again.

Hi Broken piston, I have a MG3 xross, 2016 challenge car from the beginning. Tend to stall when you're in a hurry, so far I replaced the ecc, alternator, radiator (btw thanks for how to replace the radiator video) there is a container with black oil in it it seems to some what low, do you know what kind of oil, gear oil maybe is ther a specific rate I need to top it up with, thanks in advance , David from one happy Island Aruba.
@pistonbrokeАй бұрын
The only container I think you are talking about is the power steering reservoir, the oil should be red and it's ATF dextron lll. Beautiful island you live on by the way.

I have a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer ES the back hub assembly only had 1 bolt holding it on, we found out when the car wouldn't hardly move one day and we looked and the tire was at a slant. We looked and it was only held on by one bolt n nut. And I'm talking about the hub not the studs for the tire. Do you have any idea what could of caused this, someone said this could have only happened when the last person worked on it they left the bolts and nuts off. Also it had been a couple months since the last person worked on it.
@pistonbrokeАй бұрын
It's highly unlikely for the bolts to come loose on their own, so I'd guess that the last person in there either didn't fully torque them or the hub wasn't seated properly when the bolts were tightened.
@len9518Ай бұрын
You referred to millivolts. That is incorrect. It is milliAMPs
@pistonbrokeАй бұрын
We all make mistakes and it's actually milli ohms so you were wrong too.

Thank you for this educational video. My question is, does opening the crankshaft pulley change the engine center? Thank you.
@pistonbrokeАй бұрын
The pulley and chain gears are not keyed to the crankshaft. The engine will need to be locked in the timed position before removing the pulley bolt.
@khaledabdullah7743Ай бұрын
@@pistonbroke Although I made a mistake, thank you for this valuable information.
@leighcave6929Ай бұрын
The hub does not need to be removed to replace the brake disc. Remove the 5 long bolts & tap the disc loose ,then hold the hub & turn the disc until it can be slid off the hub - simple ! Note : the 5 long bolts should be replaced ,as they have splines under the heads , which grip but damage in use. Torque these bolts.

@pistonbrokeАй бұрын
Easy enough to do yourself. Fuse you can get from any auto factors. Dc/dc is only available from MG but you can get used ones off ebay. Just make sure if you get a used one that it's not been flooded. Fit the new dc/dc to the seat cross member to avoid this happening again. I've done a vid on how to do this.
