My mother-in-law and sister-in-law thought it was the "ultimate" prank to record themselves calling me a gold digger and a baby trapper, then play it at my baby shower. So, I snapped and "pranked" them back by revealing their family secrets in front of everyone.

Girl, you don’t have to justify wanting to be a stay at home wife. That’s your choice, and something you and your husband agreed to as a married couple. Several comments still think she is a gold digger because she chose to be a STAHW, this all depends on the couple on what they discussed, the term “gold digger” can be used to those who actually splurge the money their partner has without care, including those who would manipulate their partners to getting everything they want and leave after sucking them dry financially and go to the next victim by OP story, kinda understand why she chose this, she is not privileged growing up and had to work to make ends meet at that young age, it can be physically, mentally and emotionally tiring, and for her to have a husband like him is in a way a bit of weight had been lifted, pretty sure she will still do the wifely duties at home, they did discuss the setting after all, added she is pregnant here not all are super moms and just chose to be careful as well for her and the baby

I think this could have been handled better but her SiL and MiL are terrible. Also something for the comments not the story, Im not going to judge her for becoming a sahw, that has is a weird point of contention for alot of people some think that women HAVE to do that as soon as they are married, some think they should keep a career; honnestly its up to the couple and their finances, i think there are some mutually beneficial pros to it, having someone cook, clean, do groceries, deal with services that operate witin your buisness hours like repairmen, frees up a lot of time on days off and lets you use your days off for non-chore stuff. if i made that kind of money, or if i met someone who made that kind of money for me to do this; it jusy makes sense to do it given everyone is willing. But also they actually HAVE to take care of those responsibilities.

I’m less than a minute in and I already don’t like OP. She just needed a break? Adults don’t get “breaks” to stay at home and not work. If there are multiple kids to take care of… maybe. But a stay at home wife? No kids? Absolutely not. That’s as entitled as it gets. What if her husband wanted to quit his job and do nothing while making her work? Would that be an acceptable? The answer is a resounding “NO”, because as “equal” as we’ve become as a society, a man staying home and not working while his wife busts her ass is reviled. As it should be when a woman does it.
