Why keep the peace when your not part of the family. Family loyalty goes both ways. Letting bygones be bygones is always coming from the narcissistic side , as are all the tears . When drag in extended family shows everyone's colors. Always ask yourself, would I treat my child or family member like this, would I let them be treated like that? If not , act accordingly, LC or NC. A wedding is never a time to mend fences, you do outside of intimate events , where " family " could make a scene.

So much gaslighting and dismissal of the OP's feelings and POV is a sigh of sociopath behavior, and "Mike" not seeing any "financial boundaries" is almost psychopathic. The OP did absolutely nothing wrong in this case. I absolutely know how real this kind of family dynamic is for many like the OP. "Mike" is "almost able" to really get it, but the reality is that he is still making excuses. It is the the ultimate kind of passive aggressive gaslighting: admit just enough of the truth to try and instill guilt enough to make the OP have enough doubts. The fact that "Mike" did the "add three names" proves it. I am so very glad that her and "Jake's" wedding was so good, and the fact that they had to hire security for the venue, while the right thing, never should have had to be. "Jake" is the total antithesis of "Mike" , and the fact that "Mike" may actually have started "getting it" could be a good thing.

Is the only reason your little brother is there is so that he gets to marry your fiancée? You know your brother is there so he prevents you from being so selfish? Your parents tell everyone that their little boy deserves your fiance and not you. I kept thinking there has to be a reason the three are insisting on attending the wedding. But if your brother is your replacement, does he try to wear the wedding dress? Uh oh, your husband 2B is giving me the “you’re dead to me” eyes. Be glad you refused to let them into the wedding.

To not be one told your daughters getting married, and two not be invited, you find out from other family members they got invitations and you didn’t, that should have been a wake up call to change. This reads parents wanted a boy, finally got one, now boy is head of the family. This screams of an Asian family or even Nigerian, where they treat women as less than period. Glad OP has support on her end, and got the last stance. I would have treated it like a K-Drama, me and my bridesmaids would make an appearance in the lobby getting ready, and having my fiancés father walk me into a venue filled with people who are happy and cheering for me, in front of them. Because you know how they would make the event all about them, and demand so much after giving you so little. But also, they would realize too, how much they actually don’t know about you and feel casted out as everyone focus on you and your husband and not give them the fuel they need.
