And, I'm helping my loved ones (who are susceptible to my teachings) to do the same. Mindset is everything. This video is gold, and I hope your viewers follow your suggestions because, if they do, they will be wealthy, too. I had to figure this out on my own. You clearly laid it out 😊

It's funny how I have all these habits, but am afraid of not achieving "success" because of my childhood programming. Also, I need to decide what I want - it was hard for me because I am only now discovering my true self instead of being a mini version of my parents and their trauma. I'm learning to support myself, believing in myself and moving with my fears, to a new life.

Holy crap I relate to this on a whole different level. I can honestly say I now do all of these except for the language I use with myself, and I'm hyper-aware that this is partly because of the rhetoric I've been exposed to all my childhood.

I relate to this a lot as well, my parents heavily isolated me as a child (which wasn't hard to do due to physical health-issues, I was generally in and out of surgery, in pain rehabilitation or at home with them unable to walk). The amount of ridicilous ideas they put in my head is insane and looking back now I cannot believe the things I used to believe even just a few months ago, let alone years and how much further I have to go. After achieving downright miracles, I still don't have the faith in myself I should have and it's constant exposure to challenges, overcoming them, but also seeing how other people deal with them that I slowly start to see myself as a little more than a stain under someone's boot that would be better off not existing. Thanks to Corona I had a year of freedom from them, and looking at just myself 2020 has been the best year of my life (I intent to make 2021 my best, then 2022, etc.) Slowly but surely getting there.

I think there's a distinction to be made between talking behind people's backs just to be petty and talking about people to better understand interpersonal dynamics (and to better understand how you want to handle future situations with these types of people). Because one is just mean spirited, and one is useful... even though both involve talking about other people.
@funfun56563 жыл бұрын
Discussing interpersonal dynamics I'd say pertains more to the discussion of ideas with a person being discussed secondarily more or less as an example to illustrate a point. It's different because it's about the ideation and not the person.

Oh my goodness Sorelle! I needed to hear this SO BADLY!! It's about finding the opportunities in your failures. One of my favourite quotes is from a song by a group called Kings of Convenience. I love the line: dreams burn but in ashes are gold. Honestly, you don't have to let failures keep you down or your fears cripple you. It's possible to feel the fear and do it anyway! And gosh, I related to your younger experience... that was me in high school when I was trying to get up in front of hundreds of people and overcome my fear of public speaking. Now I'm able to get up and give speeches, make difficult phone calls and all the things I was afraid to do when I was younger! It's the only way to learn and grow and so grateful you're putting this out into the world! It's true that you have to look for the lessons, the opportunities, the ideas... even as I went through domestic violence and bulling, OCD, PTSD and struggle after struggle, knowing that it wouldn't last forever and there are ways past it really helped me. So I'm really glad to see this. Well done!
@josemanuelbarreraalba3 жыл бұрын
I think it boils down to readying yourself to take the opportunities. It's about being able to act and react when and how it matters, in the things that matter (ideas, rather than events or people). Thank you, Sorelle, for sharing and discussing ideas with us!

During my last meditation retreat, we practised loving-kindness. You imagine a negative person in your life and wish him/her love, health and freedom from suffering. I caught myself in a struggle to find negative/toxic people in my life and had to dig deeper into my past, going back to primary school to imagine such a person. It filled me with gratitude that I have such an amazing support group in my life now. It indeed does wonders.

I must say, the lessons you have lectured of are lessons I've learned from the condensed experiences I've had in my short life. I've been following these principles and at the age of 20, you will become an outcast of society and many will think you are quite strange for not partying, watching movies, or indulging in frequent relationships. You are just different with a positive attitude to achieve what many have told me is unachievable. This is definitely one of the best videos I've seen for the simplicity of the mindset one requires and I had just recently lost my path. Thank you for making such an amazing video, something I can remind myself with. 🙏

I love your videos so much because they always come from a very real and raw perspective - no sugarcoating, no tedtalks, just you and what you learnt along your journey. The way you talk about yourself and what you have achieved so humbly also makes me feel like myself - an ordinary person who has failed and been turnt down many times, can also achieve what I desire to achieve if I really believe in myself. Thank you sm Sorelle! Hope great things will continue to come your way :)

My favourite habit is: 'Making Finance a Priority'. That one resonated with me the most because I really think that everyone here is doing just that. Which also kind of ties in with the 'Find a Support Group' because I'm surrounded by likeminded people who are also on a similar journey to me! 😁😁😁 When you got to talking about failure, it reminded me of another talk where the topic of failure came up. What has stuck with me is this whole notion of 'Ultimate Failure' (not getting to where you want to go). This guy believed that there is no failure, there's only 'experimentation'. When you're working towards a goal and you encounter something along the way (like an obstacle or an issue) that takes you away from what you desire, you experiment with ways to overcome it so that you can keep moving forward. You only fail on a journey when you've thrown the towel in or the original desire has been lost. I don't know how (or if this was) helpful to anyone? Haha 😂😂😂. I hope you all have a good day/night wherever you are! Thanks for this Sorelle! 😍😊😁 Xx

I am 23 years old and it was really tough for me to change friends when I went to study in university in another city but I can see now how it was truly one of the most important decisions for me because those who I left behind would've definitely held me back with my willing to improve to become the best version of myself possible.

I want to break free!!! Speaking of the first point about friends bitching.. My ex 'friends' were the same, but they tricked me for a little bit into thinking that I am the same as them, because not only I had the problem of being a people pleaser, but I had no chance of outgrowing my ways, because whenever I'd disagree or bring up an issue or that I am expecting a change, etc, their reactions were not so great, so in order for me to feel safe, I was not being true to myself.. Until I hit the worst depression of my life and they didn't even understand so I've switched off all my social media a while after coming to UK, from my home country. I felt guilty for a whole year for taking a break from life for my mental health and recently, I went on Facebook to search for someone else and there they were, mocking me, by saying that maybe I'm dead or pregnant and that I haven't invited them to the baptism or that they've tried to spy on me (??? I wasn't home when they left those messages, so I think they're hallucinating)

The saying "money is the root of all evil" is misquoted on the regular. The actual saying is "for the LOVE of money is the root of all evil." There's nothing wrong with money. It's when it consumes you to the point that you're carelessly hurting other people in your conquest to obtain as much money as you possibly can. That's where people go wrong in trying to justify the moral high ground of remaining poverty. Excellent video, and a lot of good information all around. And there are few things I can't stand more than watching reality TV. It is the lowest common denominator on multiple levels.

"Getting your foot in the door" is the hardest part. You have a beautiful face that gives you an edge. I think that helps a lot. It's inviting so people or more likely to give you a chance to speak or act. Having a beautiful face sure helps when you are teaching people about taking selfies. You content is really good too.

I love the passion that comes with sharing your most valuable experiences with us! 🥰 I would love to hear someday where would u start if u were a student in your 20s right now, in this point in time, in 2021, living in a relatively poor country - for example what mistakes would u avoid when starting from a scratch? I'm so grateful for u and the newsletter is a real blast 🙏🏻

I want to thank you. You have such a relatable way of explaining things. I feel inspired, hopeful, & capable when I watch your videos. This one especially hit home. They are things I always hear or read about, but when you talk of them with such belief & passion, then tell about your real experiences with them, it makes all the difference. Makes sense.. Thanks again. !

Evening thoughts - I think all these habits make sense to a lot of “successful” people and so on. But if you would show this video to someone that isn’t like used to this world, I think it’s hard for them to really grab what it means. I mean a large portion of the world’s population is struggling with their relationship to finances. That might not be their fault. Upbringing, relations and a lot of other factors play a huge part in that. But how do you get someone that have a bad relationship with finances to turn that around?? How can you help others if they already are deep in the “wrongs”. I feel like it’s two totally different worlds! Im not saying that everyone needs to become rich and start businesses and so on but just have a healthier relationship with money! What do everyone think about this?

I do think you may have to learn it the hard way. I have tried so hard to explain it to my son. I came back to my hometown with literally 15 cents (6 years ago) and have made it and now live off trading. He won't learn the lessons, and I've tried so hard to teach. I've struggled so much and I wish I could help just one person!

The concept that you are bringing up deals with a poverty mindset. There are other factors that come into play based on value systems and culture. Dealing with financial mindset is like peeling an onion and there are several different ways that you can get break through with people but it requires time and listening to them and then confronting what they are internally saying to themselves about money. Awareness is a first step.

It's your skill, not wasting money, your pretty eyes, and your mouth that is very animated in your videos that makes you look like the Cheshire Cat. Being very soothing, easy on the eyes, and not creating worry in your viewers mind but you manage to cover important things. This is how you became a millionaire and a successful youtuber.

"Entrepreneuers are problem solvers. They look at the world and see what they can change and how they can improve it." No. Their primary goal is to make money and get a return on their investment. And they look to do that through a way they think will improve things. But the more money they make, the less they're likely genuinely improving things. People like Jonas Salk are true heroes. Business people are rarely genuine problem solvers. Genuine problem solvers / heroes put themselves out of business and they're ok with it.
