In today's video, I want to talk about self-care. As a minimalist, I choose to do things that are easily accessible, don't require many things but make me happy and help me live a fulfilling intentional life.

I think too many women focus their self care around society's idea of their beauty when in reality we are all beautiful exactly as we are and our self care would be better served in self care of our health, future and relationships.

Yes, you are absolutely right! It is not really self-care if we try to perfect the image of ourselves for society. Self-care should be about making our lives better, easier and working on a good future ☺

Love this video! It’s so important to not fall into paying hundreds of dollars for “self care” tactics and just enjoy what you have and the little things in life! Hiking is one of my favorite self care activities :)

I 100% agree that self care is way more encompassing than everyone thinks. It's not just relaxation, it's also about actually taking care of yourself. I just recently discovered your channel and have been enjoying watching all your old videos. This is another great video as usual! :)

That is good to know☺ it is a lot more work and there is not always something to show depending on the topic but then I want to focus on more videos with brill clips ☺

Lia saying "I don't like facemasks" triggered me for 2 seconds, before I knew what was going on. This year really got me confused 😷😅
@ecofriendlia
@ecofriendlia 3 жыл бұрын
Oh, sorry.... I completely understand why that is triggering. I do of course always wear masks in public transport and stores and wherever there are a lot of people and ut is mandatory because I want for all of us to go back to normal as soon as possible and I can't to protect the people around me ☺

It’s normal for your mind to wander during meditation. I heard this analogy that you are the person sitting on a busy road watching cars go by. You are the observer of your thoughts not your thoughts. But there is such a thing as walking meditation and also one that I like is mantra meditation. Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it another go. The benefits are great

@@ecofriendlia I say go for it! We’re the only ones that stop ourselves. You never know, it may not be that way and many people may enjoy listening! I’m sure I would. The great thing about your videos is we don’t always have to watch them in order to hear your message. Sometimes I’ll be cleaning and listening to your videos in the background. I think you should do it! 😊

Self care is a process for me. I feel like being mindful and conscious of myself and allowing space to listen to what's going on inside of me are the first steps for me to be shift the attention from everything else to my well-being. Sometimes I'd feel more like doing something instead of something else but lately I'm just trying to do some habit tracking to make sure that every day I do at least one little thing that is good for me every day. Might it be exercising, taking care of the apartment or reading a book. It really helps to see that I have taken the time to do at least one of these things. When I feel like I am really busy I burn a small candle while I'm working -- I really like the company of that warm flame...

I'm curious why you can't get into yoga! 😊 imo it's a perfect minimalist activity because you only need yourself, you come as you are, and you can practice at any level. I also like that it's an easy way to get exercise inside!

Loved this, Lia! ❤ And now I've found out why I love your channel so much more than any other: It's because you are trying your best but you are not perfect and you stand by it. This is far more inspiring for me than watching all those people who seem to have found the philiosophers' stone and make me feel bad for not getting up at 5 am to start my morning meditation with a cup of green tea. 😉

Thank you for this comment! That is absolutely true! I think we can always learn and I also think that no solution works for everybody and most of the time there isn't even a solution that works for the same person for all their life... I think we should adapt and learn and find things that work for us in the situation we are in currently ☺

There is no problem in start thinking while meditation. The point is to realize that you started thinking and come back to just breath. Even If that is just for a few seconds before your mind Starts thinking again... At least that is what I have learned.

I just went back to your comment, I have seen it when you posted it and thought "no, I did that test twice and I was a campaigner (not sure what the letters are) but now I did it again and now I am a Protagonist... But I think it also depends on my mood etc because most of the bares are near the middle so sometimes one or two questions can change the whole thing...
