30 % Xpel Ceramic is the sweet spot. I think. I’ve never tinted my windshield. It’s illegal in Texas. But you really can’t tell. I’m told it does wonders for heat rejection. Another great video Kyle.

Why don’t more automakers offer a heat rejection tint and ppf as a factory option? Is it a warranty issue that they don’t want to be responsible for those films?
@TheZakk28 Жыл бұрын
Yeah some do - I’ve seen the thermally insulated windows from Porsche and Mercedes. Not sure if they have ppf though

Adds more variables to the supply chain which they don’t want just for some tint money

The model y comes with rear and roof tinting, just not front.

I just had xpel done on my model 3 last week. 50% windshield, 20% sides and full back done with 1 piece. Love it.

I was just thinking about 50 on the front before I saw this. You think it’s okay for night time and everything. I have 15 on my side and back windows
@roejogan292 Жыл бұрын
@@karsonmccarthy7274 I haven't had any issues with night driving, but it varies from person to person as far as nighttime vision. If you are OK with 15% on your other windows, I would think you would be fine.

Not dark enough for me haha. I had double 5% on my old car but that was wayyyy too dark. Now I have 15% all around (nothing on windshield) on my M3P but I wish I went a bit darker.

Picking up my Plaid this Wednesday, first thing is to drive directly to get it tinted, then off to get the most important upgrade; LED bar (Lazer Elite 24) 2 days later.
@jimbodooner1221 Жыл бұрын
where exactly would you put it?
@topgunm Жыл бұрын
@@jimbodooner1221 put it in the front bumper opening . Looks great!

In states where the summer's are scorching. The Xpel XR Plus would be a better option than the XR.

You didn't mention the Mountain Pass Suspension. Are you still [planning it?

How much was it? I am local to the area with a MSP and have been looking to get mine done for a couple of months now.

I think it’d look better with 5% in the back and 30% in the front. But looks nice!

I really enjoy my Plaid too, except for the yoke and haptics. Will you be making a video of when you install your steering wheel and stalks? If so, when do you think you'll post these videos? Thanks for showing all of your upgrades. Your Plaid is looking fantastic.

The tints look good. I am having a car tinted but i am doing 35% on the rear and side rear, 70% ceramic on the front side windows, clear ceramic on the windshield. So i will be legal in all but MN, PA, and RI. I have family in Kansas City and in California. Kansas allows 35% on all side and rear windows. CA allows 70% on the front side windows, any tint, as dark as you want, on the rear side and rear windows. I read that you can absolutely be pulled over and get ticketed by the police in at least some states for a too dark window tint. And in others it is a secondary offense, you have to be pulled over for some other reason, then they can ticket you for a too dark tint. Even if you have proof your car is registered in a different state with more lax laws. I can’t find any info that says windshield tinting is legal below 4 inches from the top in Colorado. I’m not taking the chance. windowtintlaws.us
