Problem is that these sites cannot really be removed from moderators and it's very hard to have them taken offline. Especially when they are based in another country with different copyright laws. Even the creators of BeamNG cannot get these sites taken down. Even companies like Rockstar have trouble getting sites with stolen mods from GTA removed.

With the modland mods, most of the uploads of mods from the repo for example are sort of done by bots in a way. They either copy the description word for word or write a very short description. Similar thing happens in other games such as Farming Simulator 22. It's amazing with how quick the bots can repost stuff lol

This is happening between a lot of games, even GTA has mods being stolen and sold on different platforms. I get it, I'm an archivist and have stuff completely removed from the internet and want others to enjoy it, but I would never think about selling others work. I've released mods for GTA that have been reposted, it's whatever because it's usually Russian or Chinese sites but I ALWAYS remove post of people trying to sell my stuff, especially when I post it for free.

Downside since the theft is quite rampant, the community is also reactive. I never 180'd out any community so fast. Shame to see that any new user providing anything quality, is suspicious of theft. But I guess it's the times where things get ripped off easily vs 20 years ago. I've also seen posts with stolen content be outed, and deleted in a short time. So I guess it's justified. But also deterred me from finishing one of my mods for BNG.

Thank you for not going the route of most BeamNG mod makers and paywalling your mods. Not just because it's shitty to paywall mods, but because it's illegal unless the design is original, 100% made by you and not trying to recreate any existing vehicle. Recreations of cars are fine for free mods, but when you start charging money for them, it becomes a copyright and plagiarism issue. BeamNG has this happen more than any other modding community and I'm not sure why. Most BeamNG modders don't seem to understand that you can't legally charge money for recreating a real world car without licensing that specific brand and vehicle from the auto manufacturers themselves.

Day 7.3 of commenting: You probably wont do it, but anyway. Here is a car Suggestion if you want: the Xiaomi su7. There are 3 variants of it, different in their Performance. I thought,that it would be a bit more of a Challenge if you would be able to switch modes in that car. But while driving, so you press a button and you can select between the Performance and the Suspension settings(like race mode with hard Suspension and comfort with soft ones). I thought Maybe 3 modes,and each mode should match the Performance of the 3 variants of the su7. Maybe you are interessted. Sorry for my bad Englisch,its not my native language. If you dont understand what i meant, i could try to rewrite it and explain it better if you want. But anyways,i really love your videos

@@fillman86 Its a common thing in every modding community to resell stuff. I had my stuff seen on ad driven FiveM roleplay servers and such. Or people who was employed for these servers for "doing " cars when they just used free mods like mine. And calling that out resulting thinking i was trying to get attention or something. It's a really messed up situation which caused the GTA community dying on making free mods. Which is why now everything is behind a paywall. Because then at least something you get from it.

so the dude who posted the reddit post doxed the dude who stole your mod. now im not agreeing with the stealing of mods but the fact that he doxed Jkinc but the Jkinc's Mods Never Changed Anything From The Authors Name At All. i dont hate Jkinc at all but im not going anywhere for mods from him again.

@@fillman86 yeah when i first herd about everything i was more on Jkinc's side until me and my buddies went and did what you did before your video was uploaded we went and seen all of the author names and etc. like the Fairmont that "he did" is 1320's and the impala is kenenation's that he "did" and its sad to see one of more respected paid modders to be like this.

Stealing and leaking private mods do nothing but make modders quit. Not quite your situation but have seen so many cool projects get abandoned because some Melvin leaked it.

i have done some of my own mods and have them stolen on nexus and such after putting them out just asking for creadit my mod has been removed and the stolen version is still up and that person is profeting off it its so anoying for me because i dont do blender work and such but do try my best when it comes to mods hours of work to try and make it good in a way just for someone to steal not to mention paid mods for something im really agents paid mods for good reason modding suild be fun unless the mod maker really puts money into the mod then its justifyed it sucks that it happend to you fillboy69 i hope the cominuty thats full of pepole like this not to mention the normal modding drama and such that happens in beam (leakers theft and more) really do some reserch its interesting but i really hope they get removed and we can stop pepole like this as a comunity
