My Mom and I went Antiquing + Vintage Home Decor Haul

Hi friends! My mom and I went shopping at The Market in Woodstock, Georgia on Monday and it was amazing! What a fun shop!! 😍 Definitely worth the stop if you get the opportunity. I can't wait to go back. So I thought I would take you along with me and share my vintage home decor finds from this trip. Let's go antiquing! I'm am sorry to hear of the loss of a treasured friend, it made me think of a saying I was told when I lost a friend, that we must be happy to have been apart of their lives and smile when we think of them..... I like everything you brought home with you and if it something that I know is a keeper and will be around for a long time, then I don't mind making the investment on it. I would like to find a quilt for 40 dollars that was a great find. Well take care and see you in the next one.

Hi Melissa I am so sorry about your friend. My husband and got to know a guy at our church. We became very close. He had some health problems that we thought were getting better. He texted me every evening. He had not texted. He passed that evening. It has been several years but we still miss him. It is so hard. I love all of your finds. I love your quilts. We got to go to a 1930s four floor house. It was full. My husband paid thirty dollars for a very pretty heavy leaded glass light fixture. I got a beautiful Spring wreath for probably two dollars. We got bags of stuff . The estate sale guy just was bundling. Take care. ❤❤❤😊

Awesome handmade daily mailbox. Who cares what you paid. It spoke to you. I am in the process of replacing most of my household decor. I would have paid 20+for it. Red basket ladies desk basket held scissors, ink well, box with pens, stamps, as well as small note set with envelopes. Love the pottery, and that shelf is amazing.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend Jay. I will pray for his family and for you. My only son was killed in a car/fuel tanker truck accident when he was 17. His loss nearly killed me. Sudden and tragic deaths are the most difficult to deal with. You have no time to say goodbye to the person. My heart breaks for all those who love Jay.

I enjoyed your video...and it's so nice that you show price tags and put the prices on the screen of the things you see....it really helps all of us to learn what the asking price is for pieces. When I'm hunting for something special or very hard to find and then I find that perfect thing.....that's when I'm willing to go a little more within reason for the piece. There are probably so many different things you can do with your wall box. I think the red wire basket would be so cute on the wall holding Christmas cards from friends and relatives. I thought when you grabbed the quilt ...that was the prettiest one you showed and then the price....how could you resist! Also - so sorry you had to lose your good friend.

I actually told my mom the other day that I felt like it would help folks know what the going rate is for different items so you know a good deal when you see it! That place looks amazing! I just bought a little white wire basket just like your red one last week! Not quite sure yet what I'll put in it, probably a piece of greenery, nothing heavy. And maybe add a doilie or small piece. I haven't decorated it yet (i have a room full of things i haven't put out yet) I've kind of halted on decorating until we find out if we're going to be moving. Should know something soon, i hope🤞

I think the name of the quilt block is kissing fishes. It's a lovely quilt, could l suggest that you make a Suffolk puff to sew over that stain if it doesn't come out. Just found you recently, l do enjoy your video's. From Elaine south west France.

Oh I’ll have to do some videos soon of some of my favorites. A couple of my favorites here in Kentucky have recently closed. But there’s a great one in Corbin Kentucky. I’ll try to do a video soon! I’ve been to Gainesville many times over the years. We used to travel up to Helen Georgia a lot when I was younger and growing up in Georgia and drive through Gainesville. In fact one of my husband’s aunts lived in Cleveland Georgia near there too until she passed away a few years ago. Thanks so much for visiting with me! ❤️

The wire basket is very French inspired. I would put French bar soaps in it for a bathroom or maybe even in your kitchen. The white dish is indeed a soap dish. The stripe pitcher is Ransbottom pottery. I have one in my collection that started in the late 1980’s. I make pancake batter for two in it. I keep a small whisk in it.

So very sorry for your loss. I embroider and craft and it is a labor of love so like you I will pay for handmade. Also places like Goodwill employ people who society shuns easily so I am willing to pay a bit more for thrifts there. As far as antique malls etc someone takes effort to thrift etc so it’s their livelihood. I am someone who is willing to tip more or pay towards anyone trying to earn a living. Thats just me

I’m so sorry for the loss of your close friend. I can truly empathize with you…..It’s always a painful experience when a close friend passes, and when it’s unexpected it’s also a big shock❤. I don’t know if I can easily put into words what make me spend more than I usually would on a certain antique piece, other than sometimes when I see something it speaks to me, and it conjures up an intriguing story in my mind.

So sorry for your loss. I love the wooden mail box holder. Look great with certain photos or mailing cerficates of some kind. Love Baskets too. Metal hanging basket would be cute in a bathroom holding perfumes or powers etc. Your finds were all delicious. Ha Ha. We all do love hand made items. Really a good find , so useful.
