I think she (if she is really your grandma) does not remember that she has another daughter. She is very old and might have dementia or senile already. And her other children might not know that they have any siblings or older sister since maybe your mom was sent to orphanage and adopted before they were born. And Your grandma never told them.

Yes, I agree. Also, she might feel shame or regret that she gave her child away (for adoption) all those years ago. We don't know if she was a single mom at that time and if she didn't have finances to take care of a child. Let's hope that the Bambang & Mama Lulu's DNA will match. 🙏

And to add, back then at that era, life were so hard, maybe your grandmother had your mother at very young age and dont have any source to make a living to support your mother. Maybe the best thing she could do to save your mother, was to hand her over to the orphanage, rather than be with her (grandmother).
