My Mom Has an Aneurysm at Dinner

My mom had an aneurysm burst during dinner. It has been the most devastating thing my family has ever gone through, and still the blessings are far and few between with my mothers health right now. The hospitals have made her condition worse, and now we know 100% that my mother has EDS and a very serious comorbidity that can come with EDS. The condition leaves me and my daughter in danger, but my daughter is having more symptoms than me right now. We are about 5 months out from getting tested for this other problem. We may now know why I have vertigo and its because of EDS. Literally 99% of my health problems are because of EDS and my mom shined a huge light on me and my daughter so that we can get treated and get more testing. As of posting this, my mother is alive by the grace of God. She has contracted every hospital borne illness, infections, allergies, you name it. The hospital actually did a great deal of damage to her by giving her a medication she's allergic to and she has been in coma since the beginning of December. I will make more videos in the coming days of my moms recovery and regression and the mistakes the doctors made that made her condition much, much worse.
Her conditions caused from EDS: chiari malformation, SAH, Aneurysmal Subarachnoid hemorrhagic stroke. Pray for my mom, please!

This is literally the hardest thing and most devastating thing we've ever gone through as a family. Single-handedly the most devastating thing my mother has every experienced, and she is getting NO breaks in the hospital. She's part of the population that has a very strong allergic reaction to Heparin (0.07% of the population) so it compounded her aneurysm damage and caused strokes all over her brain. This was after she was recovering and speaking miraculously! She has had every flu, every pneumonia, every bacteria she could catch, she has caught. She is the toughest woman I know, but she really needs your prayers right now. She's been in coma since the beginning of December and it has looked grim from day 1. She surprised everyone, but the hospital really made huge mistakes with her. Please pray for my mama

Having a cardiac arrest and then using hypothermia do make them survive is completely different than what Esther is going through. But, like you said, you never k ow. Some people are pure miracles and survive despite all odds.

I’m so sorry to hear this. My mother also had an aneurysm and lived through that - they had to place a shunt because her intracranial pressures remained high but she survived. She passed away in November 2020 but due to another complication not directly related. I wish you and your family the best and hope that she pulls through with minimal deficits, just make sure she follows up with her appointments following discharge because that’s where things fall through the cracks. ❤

I'm so proud of you my lovely. You're coping very well under a lot pressure and you're doing your family very proud. My mum would be very pleased to see someone tackle this and bring more awareness to the intricacies of vascular health in your brain. It's too late for her but I'm strongly encouraged that it's never too late to take care of your brain health and foster good lifelong habits. Please give yourself as much space and time to grieve every aspect. There's a time to sit and reflect and if you need anything at all don't hesitate to reach out. There's no such thing as a silly request and even if it's just to stop and water the plants and be still in the knowledge that you're keeping the lights on it's ok. You can do hard things but the hardest part can be letting go of control.

That is very true Andrea, nothing ever prepares us for this kind of thing happening. You can only take things one step at a time and keep yourself on as steady a path as possible but allow yourself to be accepting in the way it all feels, those feelings are completely natural and understandable. I can tell Raf is probably finding that really hard to process and it must have been traumatic to experience, he's still so young and he will find his best coping mechanism for now as will Abi. Just allow them to express how they feel anytime they feel the need and let them know they can talk about it anytime they feel so, you're both going to need to be their rock right now no matter how hard it will be🙏. I'm so sorry about your mother, and I'm glad she is okay! I had a similar experience with my mom a few years back, which caused a stroke. She left for work like any other day and not even an hour and a half later, her friend/coworker called to tell us what happened. Thankfully, she's still doing great despite not having the use of her left side.
