This is, by far, the best pierogi recipe. I have been searching so long for the perfect pierogi recipe and yours is it for me! My grandmother passed before she could teach me how to make her delicious pierogi. When I made these and tasted them on Christmas Eve, it brought tears to my eyes. It was as if she was there and had just made a fresh batch for me. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. God Bless and Happy New Year.

It's a lot of fun to make pierogi! One time, I got tired of the same old potato-filled pierogi from Mrs. T, so I made 3 dozen ground pork pierogi with onions, garlic, smoked paprika, marjoram and salt and pepper. I froze most of them to use later. They were so good!

Hi Mrs. G we are glad you enjoy making pierogi. We love that you froze them for later. Thank you for sharing your filling recipe. ❤️Grandma👩🏻& Grandpa👨🍳

Hi Grandpa and Grandma. To this day I still use your recipe to make mine. I got it from you when you did a video once before. In fact, I made them in October and freeze them to have on the holiday. So what I do is fry cabbage and onions in a lot of butter 😮. Then I layer the cabbage mixture over the pierogies and cover with foil and bake slow. They come out so good ! I look forward to see what stuffing you put in them in future videos. Cheers! ….. Brian

Great demo! TY. However...(Pssst: My Mom never used any measuring cup or any measuring utensil. She just used her hand to scoop out the flour from the cannister, and splashed in the milk by eye-balling the amount.) They were the greatest pierogis on Earth 🎉. Yum.

I love making pierogi and do the potato onion filling during lent. My grandma used flour, salt, eggs and water for her dough. My family loves them fried. My grandma was taught how to make them from the Polish woman who lived downstairs from her when they moved to Hamtramic MI from Massachusetts for the factory jobs back in the 20's

I’m 73 and I remember using the jelly jar glass to it out the pierogis. ❤
@GrandmaFeralАй бұрын
Hi that is exactly what my Grandmother used. My Mom used a jelly jar also but many years ago she finally bought a large round cookie cutter. We now use her cutter to cut out the dough.❤️Grandma👩🏻

What can you substitute if you don’t want to use any dairy ingredients. I’m tired of buying this and want to start making it from scratch the way my late mom did who was from Poland
@GrandmaFeralАй бұрын
You can make the dough with 2 cups all purpose flour, 4 tablespoons oil and 1 cup hot water. Sift the flour add the oil and very slowly add the hot water while mixing well. You can use a spoon at first and than mix with your hand. If dough seems tough add a little more water. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes it is ready to roll out.❤️Grandpa👨🍳
@helenshack2838Ай бұрын
@ Thank you so much grandpa. Definitely will follow the instructions. We loved the potatoe filling the most and my mom would fry onions separately until they were golden brown and add the boiled cooked perogees after to the same pan to crisp up a bit. It was beyond delicious. She never made enough in my opinion.

I think mixing and kneading by hand would make a more tender dough. Bread machines can over mix, making things tough.
@GrandmaFeralАй бұрын
You might be right but I've made pierogi by hand and with the bread machine and we don’t see a difference.😊 ❤️Grandpa👨🍳
