I'm studying to be an Dietitian and I've met individuals who grew up in similar situations. These people have such a negative relationship with food that it has led to eating disorders like anorexia and binging. A parent's words can affect their children greatly.
@Eeeeeeeeerie4 жыл бұрын
The BRIGHTEST STAR The BRIGHTEST STAR oh yes you’re correct, it’s definitely a concern. Just saying that the way a parent approaches the situation can have a great effect. I still remember being called “flaca” when I was little. It’s a nickname meaning “skinny” in Spanish that’s quite common. I wasn’t even that skinny but my parents and family used it anyway without thinking too much about it. It doesn’t seem offensive, right? I didn’t used to think so. But I’ve learned words can stick with you for a LONG TIME. I’m 25 now and still struggling with body dysmorphia sparked from trying to conform to that nickname “flaca”. Rebuilding a good relationship with food can take a lot longer time than some people think and I just hope this mother and daughter keep that in mind and don’t give up. 💪🏼

That's actually not healthy. It's better she eats at certain times of the day and not starve. I mean eating past midnight is not healthy! If all of a sudden she has meal after not eating for a while, that food is usually stored as fat instead of digested. That mom should learn to be dietician before makes her daughter go through this,
@nataliac.5317 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I was looking for someone else who got it. Starving your body only makes the weight pile on. But it's not that you shouldn't eat after midnight, but that you shouldn't eat a meal 3 hours before you go to sleep. I'm still with you on this though
@TheYzarci7 жыл бұрын
It also doesn't help with weight loss either. One needs a set amount of calories in order to lose weight. ( At least 1200 calories). Eating after midnight is okay though, especially if someone works a 2nd/3rd shift job. (like me lol).
@BlueMoon_Night7 жыл бұрын
no it's actually scientifically proven and can be seen in old knowledge too - for me in Indian ayurveda - that eating so late at night is bad...and scientifically eating right before bedtime is bad because it blocks proper secretion of growth hormone at the wrong time(esp. carbs)...your body needs to repair at night and not activate another cycle focused on food digestion... and it's true also that eating very late at night *and sleeping right after* can cause your body to store it as fat...even more body type matters too and looking at her It probably is - I'm heavy too so i know i have that body type too... i'm not saying what she's doing is completely right - having only watched 7 minutes so far but what you're claiming isn't completely correct either

I mean I'm still a little chubby but I'm happy with myself now, and I go on diets every now and then so I can gradually lose more weight

MidnightFlower13 no she's right. There are several different body types: mesomorph, endomorph, and ectomorph, as well as combinations of the above. Then there are macronutrients which are how many grams of carbohydrates, protein, and fat a person intakes in a given day, and each body type has a different requirement of each macronutrients depending on whether you're trying to lose weight or build muscle. For example I am an endomorph so my body holds on to Fat more easily than the other types and it's also harder for my body type to lose weight. My body type also functions better on a lower carb diet. So yes you're right in the fact that we all need carbohydrates in order to survive, but the amount that your body requires varies person to person. But honeysulli probably requires more carbohydrates because of her body type.

If you don't accept your daughter no matter how she looks you're a bad mom. Even making her lose weight by not letting her eat and making her over work her body. THATS WHY SHE EATS SO MUXH AT SCHOOL. You don't give the nutrition her body needs. The girls only 15, she's going through puberty. Puberty makes you gain weight, especially when you start your period. Her mom tortures her this isn't a good way to treat your child. Her moms a personal trainer she should know that it's hard to lose weight if you strict your eating. Being a fat kid myself, I can relate to her. Even from a young age, many would tease me because of my weight. I at least have family members who don't pressure me to lose weight. She needs support emotionally. She'll end up stressed and depressed at that state. I lost weight at around her age and of course everything changed. People complimented that I'm pretty and it boosted my confidence. Then I gained it all back again and people start saying that I let myself go. Someone even told me that I looked pitiable because of my weight (at my grandmother's funeral at that). To think that he pitied me because I'm fat and not because I lost someone dear to me. I cried a lot that night and even caused a rampage. Thankfully my family was there and comforted me. During the time I gained and gained more weight, I started appreciating myself and what I have. I also thought of the people in my life and finding the ones that didn't care for my appearance. I found acceptance. Right now, I'm losing some weight again. I am determined to buy those dresses and outfits that I want for myself. And I'm doing it for myself and no one else. I did have a lot of setbacks before, especially when I was going through a lot of stress and depression. But I found that you should try and try when you want to. Now I found a diet that works for me and I can stick to. Everything falls into its own time when you're ready to accept them. (Sorry for all the rambling, it got too long)
@nctsgrass7 жыл бұрын
👏👏👏👏 I don't know you yet I'm so proud of you haha. I can also relate a lot to you, but in the opposite way. I was underweight, not because I didn't eat enough, but because I don't gain weight easily yet I lose weight fast. My parents of course never said anything since I wasn't in the unhealthy side and It's our genetics but all the girls at school used to bully me while calling me a stick, a skeleton (I wasn't even THAT thin!) and some relatives would always be like "You should start eating" when I in fact eat more than them. I was at first totally fine with my body, but because of them I started to hate being thin. So I did everything to gain weight and in the end... I got a big butt and my belly isn't flat anymore. :/ So now I do regret it and I'm kinda pissed off since I restarted being underweight yet if I want to get rid of belly fat I should work out and I'm the laziest person on earth. 😂😂 Anyways, in the end, you should find how you like yourself, not how others like you. I understand that some people were worried for me, but I've seen more people trying to make me gain weight so they'll feel better about their own body. That's disgusting tbh. EDIT: Oh damn I just wrote an essay sorry! I always write too much...

She is a little bit too chubby, but if the mom didn’t shame her so much and thought of a more realistic meal plan for her maybe she could make real progress. Binge eating a lot in one sitting is even more fattening. Starving yourself causes the yoyo effect. Slow dieting yields the best results. Shaming doesn’t help either.

"i want her to be confident. She's a 15 year old, she's still growing, forcing her to lose weight is useless, she has to want it, not you.

This being so normalized in Korean culture is SHOCKING. They're saying she work outs a lot but nothing happened. Isnt there plus side to losing weight and being healthy? Shes a trainer but she doesnt seem to know the more calories you burn the more your body craves. She over exercises and eats the meals of a 7 year old as a 15 year old. Let her be a teenager first before you try to force her into your perfect daughter. If she doesnt want to do it its only making her hate her mom and hate herself.

@8:42 the exact same thing happened to me to, i was skinny up until i was like 12 and one summer i gained a lot of weight, but it wasn’t because i ate too much or didn’t work out because i did! my family got scared and they thought it was something serious so they took me to see a bunch of doctors and i went under tons of exams and analysis and even under a diet and even if i was anxious i worked out outside , but it didn’t work at all, only some small results, but nothing someone could actually notice. we later found out it was something related to my growing hormone, it basically stopped working at the most crucial time it was supposed to work so instead of growing taller i stayed the same height and gained weight, people would comment on it at school and boys would say “oh you were pretty before, what happened” and stuff like that, and i can honestly say that up until this day my self esteem has never been the same, i go through periods of time where my mental health gets so bad i can’t even look in the mirror without feeling like throwing up. it’s awful, and my parents are a little more understanding now than they were before because they could see that even though their intentions were right it hurt me beyond words can describe. now, the mom is a trainer, she should know that the physical state of your body does not determine whether you’re healthy or not, sometimes it’s just in your genes and you can’t control it, but what matters is that she should be healthy right? then her body shouldn’t matter!!! it’s hers!!! i wish the mom would try to be more understanding and lest strict, it could really affect her daughter, and for the long run too, it’s hard to recover from stuff like that

This is a known aka true fact when you eat 3 meals a day and workout, you could lose weight but also gain the healthy weight aka muscles, which helps your body and also it boosts your metabolism which can process food faster and help you stay healthy enough. It just takes time, but when you eat less, it actually lessens the boosts of the metabolism and actually makes the person gain more unhealthy weight in general. I learned this in weight class, but also in actual gym trainer
