One cool little factoid about the movie, the Tiger tank in the film was the last operational Tiger tank in existence. They pulled it out of a museum in Bovington, England to use for the film.

You can see the Tiger AND Fury at "The Tank Museum," they leased both of them from there, the only two genuine tanks in the film. To say "they pulled it out of a museum" implies they just threw a handful of cash at them and said "we'll let you know when we're done with it! Instead it took months of negotiating with the best armoured museum in the world, the agreement they hammered out had The Tank Museum deliver Tiger 131 to the location, Museum volunteers to operate it ,and play the crew. The film company only had it for one day, although they had the use of Fury for several months, with several volunteers on set at all times, who were an invaluable help, and got a callout by name, from Brad Pitt at the premier

@@nicksykes4575 . I'd love to go to Bovington and see them. My dad rode a Sherman E8 in Korea, I've seen a few 'gate guardians' at US military bases, but never saw one run. And yeah..Tiger I. @Flix2Us, nicksykes is right. The one in the film was the only running one in the world. They were beasts. Tiger 131: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip27q3drrtp9gbM

A bit of context that makes this frustrating to me: at this time Germany had lost the war and everyone knew it, but Hitler was determined to fight to the last German. The war was finally ended about a month after this stand.

Although not the most accurate WW2 picture, it captures the vibes/horrors very well which is not always easy.

While the action wasn’t all that believable(in a realistic/strategic sense), the relationships and personal moments are definitely very accurate to how it is in war/military(not just WW2)

@lilianreaantelo7581One big one for me was the Tiger shooting at the rear of the column of Shermans instead of taking out the one in the lead first. Taking out the vehicle at the front causes all of the ones behind to panic. Stop, figure out which direction the shot came from, try to drive around the vehicle that has been taken out, etc; realistically that Tiger probably could’ve taken out at least three of them in that scene before they had even gotten off of the road had they shot Fury first. Obviously this would’ve ended the movie early, so I don’t see why they didn’t just put Fury at the rear or in the middle or something, have the lead tank get blown away, and then continue the scene like it happened.

Also, Fury had a 76mm high velocity gun, not the short barrel 75mm gun...and the 76mm gun could absolutely kill the Tiger from the front from 750 meters or so...over a kilometer if they had HVAP shells. Then there is the fact that we do not see any Allied air support...not any artillery either...not even mortars get used, and that is just plain ridiculous for WW2 in Germany in April of 1945. And then there is the last stand at the end...against troops that are shown marching to battle with Panzerfausts to kill tanks...who then never bother to try and use their Panzerfausts to kill a tank.

I agree, the soundtrack is amazing. Especially the main theme titled "Norman". Very good indeed

This movie will hit right in the feels, as an Army tank commander and his team have one last mission to fulfill during the final days of WWII.

Nick, your mom mentioned how all these guys saw all that stuff and were then expected to just 'fit back in' when they got home - there's a fantastic movie about that. It's in black and white, but it's from the actual post-war period. It's called "The Best Years of Our Lives" (1946, if you want to check IMDB). Dana Andrews, Frederic Marsh, Myrna Loy, and a young man who had actually lost his hands in combat. If y'all have already done it, forgive me and drop the link. But if you haven't, I think it'll be worthwhile after all of the WW2 stuff you two have been watching lately.

The Tiger were few in number and mechanically complicated. When they worked, unstoppable. They were also eye wateringly expensive to make.

yes the allies helped, I believe the US borrowed some $200 billion to Europe to rebuild which was part of the Marshall plan (I could be wrong on the name)

If y'all like Logan Lerman, you should check out The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Probably his best performance. Directed and written by the author of the same named book.

I really just wish that the folks making this film had not been so quick to make so many unrealistic choices in depicting the tank combat and a few other things...it is such a great movie in so many ways but could have been so much better. David Ayer is a really good director, but it seems like he should probably not try to deal with historical subjects...considering his work on his other WW2 movie U-571 is even more inaccurate than this film. I fully appreciate that some things have to be different than actual history sometimes, but this movie did a few too many things that are just completely against the real history for seemingly no real reason. There are such great acting performances in this movie, but it could have been so much better if they had gone the realistic route. IMHO

Germans on quality but americans in more numbers but still good war equipment but germany went crazy but we made more for the job and sure good enough like the tiger vs sherman tanks witch is a good tank but germany just eent crazy. With quality but america is strong because of more numbers with good quality but germany went over board to more quality and less numbers they could have made more its a lot of things that effects your resources

In the past I think wives and family did the most for helping calm down solders with psd. Think family and wives did better they any doctor today. Think about it today. Go to war. Most wives cheat or divorce them today. So today soldier gets a double whammy of loosing friends and their family. At that point can see soldiers just loosing it and wondering what is worth living for. If you think about it your wife and family might be the only ones that got an edge to break through to a solder having psd.
