I must thank my plastic surgeon who saved my life after a nasty bone infection. Not only can plastic surgeons help transform our bodies, but they are also excellent for treating wound care for a para. Hats off to woman surgeons!

Thank you for your transparency. Some questions: How did you go about explaining your goals to your surgeon? If your children were to ever ask about having a mommy makeover, have you considered how you would explain it? Now that you have lost more weight do you have loose skin again? Finally, I’m amazed you went back to work so quickly, but I understand the drive of a doctor is immeasurable! Is that something you look back on and wish you could have had more time to recover?

Just had my 3rd baby. It usually takes my body about 2 years to get back to what I was pre babies. For context I'm 4'9 and was 160 before my first baby. I worked extremely hard and got down to 100 after my first but my breast and stomach were never the same, the more weight I lost the worse I looked in my own eyes. Im 3 weeks postpartum now and I'm at 160 but it's going to take a lot of work for my body to get back into shape. I don't think I'd ever be able to afford plastic surgery so it's gonna have to be a strict workout routine and after breastfeeding I'll consider dieting however I eat very healthy as is. Thank you for sharing your story ❤

I had so much respect for you already, but it blew up in the stratosphere after hearing this honest and validating account of everything that went into getting to this point. Your openness and vulnerability make you even more likeable, if that’s even possible 💙💛.

I’ve had multiple surgeries due to breast cancer and those drains are awful!!!!!! My last surgery was diep flap. Essentially a tummy tuck that moves stomach fat to the breast area. I had my drains in for 8 weeks. It was by far the worst part of everything. You look amazing and I’m glad your surgeries went well ❤😘

That was a nice video. I appreciate how nuanced you speak about the 'surgery-part' of your weight loss journey. I think that first of all you have to accept that no body is and will be perfect. (Photo shopped bodies do'nt exist in real life). Often lifestyle changes (diet, sports, sleep, stress reduction..) will give already a better shaped and healthier body. And for some things plastic surgery is a blessing, like how you described👍. In the Netherlands, where I live, we are still rather reluctant about such procedures besides the financial part (the use of fillers+botox is even an issue in the public opinion). To speak so openly about your surgical corrections can really help women to use this option for things you can't do yourself.👍 (My only serious problem is that in the Netherlands most times you have to pay yourself for those things. The insurance in most situations does'nt pay , except maybe for extreme extra tissue after weight loss. As you said it gave you a healthier body+mind, it therefore is not fair that these kind of procedures are only possible for a rather small group of women, at least in the Netherlands. And thanks for these kind of honest and open video's💐

How long after your stomach surgery did you have to wait until you could do full blown crunches? I remember after having a baby it was something like 6 or 8 weeks? You're honestly such an inspiration. Thanks you _so much_ for sharing your wellness journey. You're beautiful inside & out Doc. Keep on shining bright star! 😘💕💕

I had a tummy tuck about 9 months ago (with hernia repair). I didn’t have much excess skin but def had diastasis after 2 pregnancies and c-sections. I also had a pretty severe csection shelf! I so agree about the back pain. I couldn’t turn over in bed without discomfort and that cleared immediately. I am thrilled with my results as well and am still considering a breast augmentation but am just worried about mainly the newest cancer they found that can result from then (although rare). I love my surgeon though and I would go back to him for it! I think plastic surgeons are wonderful too and they do so much more than just “elective enhancements” or whatever lol

Thank you so much for your honesty and sharing your experience!!! You look fabulous! Appreciate you sharing the level of pain and that u only took a few pills to manage it. Do you mind elaborating on why the drains were the worst part if no pain? Just annoying to have on?

Can you explain more about diastase, what it is and how surgeons correct it? How did you find your surgeon and how many did you meet with before selecting your surgeon? How do you know when you have lost the right amount of weight to have the surgery? For example, if you still are destined to lose more weight?

I lost 100 lbs and had breast implants. One deflated and now I have a CT scan showing MANY bulging discs. I just found out within the last few days but my back is absolutely killing me. If a 525cc (maybe it was 550) deflates can it cause back problems? It might be useful information as mommy makeovers become more popular. C2 through T7 and I JUST turned 50. I’m devastated and live in a rural area and I’m terrified of the quality of providers here (I worked in healthcare for 25 years)

Thank you so much for sharing this. I don't even know who I am body wise anymore after my 2nd baby. I still look pregnant I think. My lower back hurts all the time and I agree I think it's the fat and the diastasis rectis issue. But I'm scared to do the surgery do to the discomfort afterwards. So thanks for sharing your experience.

As a spine surgeon, would someone who has had a lower lumbar fusion in the past be a candidate for a mommy makeover?

For me, I decided that I would keep my extra skin after I lost weight. Seeing how I coded after my last surgery. However, 16 years later and old age I wished I had it done and breast reduction. No fun being Jane Russell in the year of Twiggy in 7th grade 105 pounds. My back would wouldn’t be so bad now if I had.

I feel you! I was a B cup in 5th grade with a slim body type, was teased constantly about it in elementary school. Now i am a H cup and have wanted a breast reduction all my life. My insurance won’t cover it, period. My back and shoulders have taken a beating all these years. I am considering a double mastectomy A. Because my maternal cousins have had breast cancer, B it is cheaper than a reduction, and C i am so over huge boobs! I am at the age where having breasts vs not does not bother me. Thanks for your comment sister Jane!😊

@@sbaker3426 I know exactly how you feel. I wasn’t playing attention and matter for the garage door to hit me on my head in my 4th month. I still can’t wear a bra 32FF, it’s killing my back but bras get my muscles spamming and sharp pain in my neck. My head feels too heavy for my neck. Good luck on getting your surgery, I’m so sorry about family history of breast cancer.

I'm so interested in getting this procedure. I'm 45, my youngest is 14 now and I have "front butt", pancake boobs, and who knows what happened to my abs. I'm about 30 pounds overweight and really just want to get back to feeling good again, along with seeing my feet. I have no idea how to choose a surgeon, though. Any suggestions on things to look for in a good surgeon?
