I know it is probably embarrassing but seeing you struggle on certain climbs and being confidents enough to share is very encouraging. As a beginner climber, sometimes I get anxiety about even touching the wall because I feel super weak when I can’t make it up the v1 or v2.

Murky and Miso honestly this is a totally normal thing! I’ve been climbing for almost 2 years and there are still moments that I feel like this. However I have made some amazing new friends at my gym because I failed a climb. Climbing in my opinion is one of the most supportive sports and most people are extremely friendly. (Can’t say all people because there are a few odd ones out there) Failing a climb usually sparks conversation about beta or even what grading your in. If that still seems a little out there try climbing with a few friends or get some friends to join yah! It especially helps if they are in the same grade as you because you can encourage each other as you climb higher and higher grades. Just a thought 😁

Hey Jenn! Fun watching your video as always. Some beta tips (maybe): for the pink V5 try to mantle more on the right side, rather than in the middle, so that your heel ends up in the lowest/outermost point (middle) and your hands more on the right. Also what Th3Nguyen said. For the blue V5, bringing your right foot up is easier if you have your left more under you, on the two start holds rather than on the foothold on the left - left hip into the wall rather than flat on froggy style.
@patrickrod96375 жыл бұрын
To add to this for the pink V5 with the mantle, turn your right hand out and put it higher to help push you up and over with the hips!

I think that in the pink V5 you could place the heel a bit to the left and when you take the crimp with your left move and lift your body above the heel. Also, while doing this try to pull with your left and push with your right part of your palm the volume. Hopefully this beta will help.

soo im late to the game but with that pink V5, maybe try opening up your hips by facing the foot that your heel hooking with outwards? I find this helps me :) your climbing is amazing btw
@cogitodubitoamo4 жыл бұрын
not as if I could do it, I'm pretty shit at hip opening, but yeah, that was my first thought, too. if you let your forefoot 'hang', you get a lower foot position. and the lower foot position you have, the easier it is to transfer weight onto it. also, as your mass centre gets lower, your upper arms will get somewhat releived
@eenhoornlover1125 жыл бұрын
aaah i love how chill you are.

for beta on the pink one i would say when you put your left foot on the big on and gred the small hold try to move you leftt foot more towards the middle of the big one at the edge
@brendeneum93095 жыл бұрын
What I did for that pink V5: Don't wanna be a beta sprayer, so I'll put it way below... Before pulling yourself up and over the big pink thing (bpt), move your hands further right so they're on the slanted portion of bpt. Position your left heel at the lowest point on top of bpt. Then pulling up and over shouldnt be as strenuous. This position reduces the amount you need to pull once you grab that small pink thing above bpt. 👍

Fun video Jenn, love the dedication of doing early morning sessions! I find I am much more productive work wise in the morning, so I usually start my work day early and climb after! A little piece of friendly advice: try to avoid full crimping so much. Working on your open hand and half crimp strength will make you much stronger on all sorts of holds in the long run, and drastically reduce your chance of one of those nasty pulley injuries! Looking strong, keep up the training!

Nice video and I love its soundtracks as always. In climb, sweating is often related to fear. Try and repeat your sends, you might get confidence enough. Also, on such said repeats, try to be as graceful as possible, with alternative betas. It might help your technique. For example, at 2’49, your left foot is obviously too high. Change your feet or use the wall if it is textured. But that’s just minor details, I find your climbing technique quite good.

Your shoulders are high. Pull them back when you climb, engage the scapula and lower back, pull hips closer to the wall, and press your power through your glutes and big toe. For the big hold, your goal is to get your knee over your toe. Then you can stand on it and move up. You are strong. You just need the climbers mind. You will develop in time. Great video. I much enjoy your music choices. Cheers :(

Hi! If I could give you some advices : - You should try to read the problemes before climbing it (for the blue boulder for exemples, it would save you 3 tries ;) ) - I think it is the time for you to try harder boulder -> really find something that you do not even understand and just try to do one moov in a way to go out your confort zone (truly) - Finally I learned that stretching just after or just before exercising is not really good for the muscles (I am studying sport in France) so I would recommend you to wait 24h before or after your session! 💪💪 Don’t stop training, you are doing good job! @hobbitilius5 жыл бұрын
While I understand your embarrassment at sweat-stains in the butt area, I see it all the time at my gym and never give it a second thought, neither does anyone I know. Climbing is excercise and almost everyone sweats while excercising. Alternatively, black trousers and/or more moisturewicking underwear can help hide sweat. Also just in case: In my experience, sweat-stains can show up just as much on looser trousers, having a lower cotton percentage in the fabric is way more important than fit.
