Rachel, I absolutely loved your video today. I'm a therapist and I specialize in working with kids/teens and attachment. I just wanted to say thank you for showing ways of waking up your kids and loving on them first thing in the morning. Waking them up with encouragement and even encouraging Noah through her accident, those moments are so small but so valuable. You go girl. Thank you for your inspiration and vulnerability!

Night time routine! Because if you are getting up that early....when are you going to bed?!?!?
@kelliyeowell56914 жыл бұрын
What I suggest to clients is think about what you do the hour before you turn off the lights. I encourage you to put your phone on the charger and do these few things: Pack lunch(es), put our your clothes (work or workout), lay out your journal, candle, coffee, water, etc. (whatever you want to spend time with/on), check your calendar to see what you having going on the next day so you are prepared :) You then have much less decisions to make the next day, as our brains only have a certain capacity to make sound decisions, so this prep takes that out of the equation
@maryalicesalzer92244 жыл бұрын
Yeeess!! Would love to know more about your night time routine!! And when do u have intimate time with your husband?? Sorry for getting a little too personal here but I'm sooo tired after I put the baby to bed at 8 and I want to wind down and get ready for bed quick so I can be asleep by 9 so I can get up early before the baby gets up to have my me time! I just don't know where to squeeze in time for my husband! Also, do your kids have the same bed time and wake up time on weekends/breaks from school? If so, what does their morning routine look like when they're not in school but still waking up early?

I like it. Thanks for explaining the basics of the routine at the end. I am trying to get to the place where I can wake before the kids. Every time I sleep in instead of getting up I regret it. My entire day is a mess and I get nothing done. I see more and more moms suggesting to get up before the kids and it makes sense. That is one of those things you wish someone told you when you first had kids or before the baby arrived.

There were so many reasons I was making not to go walking in a foreign place where I stand out so much. Okay, one more comment :) After having done this for 30+ years (corporate life, business be , four kids, now semi-retired), here is what I encourage my clients to think about. Instead of start LARGE, my motto is 'Start small, be consistent, stay faithful.' We always want to do so much when we begin a 'habit.' it's truly about consistency. It is more powerful to be consistent for a minute, than to be sporadic for 30 min.

I want to wake up early, but here is my hesitation...I have to go to bed early. When do I hang out with my husband? When we put our kids to bed around 8, we have two/three hours with each other...that's our time. So of course, we go to bed late around 10/11 and the thought of waking up earlier than 6:30 (when we get my oldest up for school) sounds crazy because I went to bed so late. Just figuring out a good time for my husband and I, besides after the kids go to be, seems key for me. I'd love advice on that.

Hi Rachel I’m a new follower of you. And your words, your story, your content has completely changed my way of looking at life and how to show up for others in the best way possible means showing up for your self first. I was one of those many woman who thought that if I did some thing for myself, meant I was being selfish. I have changed that way of thinking thx to you. I have kids , husband, and I want to to be exceptional in these roles as mom and wife. But I also want to be a better more exceptional version of myself. So thank you. 🙏🏼 please show us what your eating every day. What you occasionally indulge in 5 % of the time and lastly what is your work out 🏋️♀️ routine. I know typically people change what muscle group they will work out each day. So I was curious how you alternate your days. And what cardio do you like to do.? Thank you 🙏🏼 sorry this was a long comment.
