I LOOOOOOVE how honest she is about her jealousy and her ego!!! I love that she is honest enuf to talk about how she feels since her husband came on board and how her success influenced him and the struggles he had gone thru. I love that they worked thru it and became stronger and didn't walk away from each other. These are the examples we NEED so desperately in society!! Wow! Really one of your best interviews!! Thank you Ms. Rachel from the bottom of my heart. I found you as I was walking into Target, your book Girl, stop apologizing caught my eye. I've been apologizing from such a young age. I bought the book and started reading not long after I got home. I cried. That night I thanked god for finding you/ your book. I'm doing the 90 day Challenge, and finding this book and you could not have come at a better time in my life. Thank you thank you for everything you've been doing and will continue to do. This was so helpful on so many levels for me; as someone who thinks about getting her book complete every day and although I don't have the huge following I love and show up daily for those that I do have with so much gratitude for finding my passion and purpose in personal development and finally overcoming so much trauma anxiety PTSD survivor of domestic violence and so much judgment from others hearing the factor that you found your success even without the huge following you still showed up despite of the hardships you still went on; my father biggest lesson taught me at 17 never rely on anyone except yourself and I am 34 single mama proud to help others move forward daily to create our life truly as desired without worry of anyone else; your book inspires me to write a little more every day and no longer needing medication to function im free and I know I have everything inside of me to make this daring to dream bigger daring to lead my own way; thank you for Girl Wash Your Face thank you for being that person who steers more away from victim feelings we are here to turn our trauma into our triumph and I know my strength to overcome such terrible years I found my purpose and the more i can let women know its ok to leave that toxic relationship they will survive they are powerful and raise awareness to this epidemic of not judging women stuck or feeling stuck but reminding them its a choice to walk away and when they do life will make sense!

After 3 minutes into this her audiobook, I paused and sent it to even woman I love and know. I am 49, and was a little skeptical that I would come away with a measurable value. She may be young, but her words, stories-- they had a universality to it, making it so relatable and charming to boot. I love her. I am southern, raised Pentecostal and also switched to presbyterian, and also am a truth teller. I identified with her style, her truth and.... god, she is so funny.

You’re successful because you kept going AND you didn’t have to work other jobs to save money - you were privileged from the beginning to be able to devote all your time to your craft. It is dismissive of those facing systematic barriers and inequities to just focus on the pull yourself up by the footsteps narrative.

Thank you Rachel for sharing your experience and your understanding. Near the end of the podcast, you said that your life mission is to let women know that "You are in control. You control what happens next. You choose a good life. You choose a bad life. " I understand what you're saying and on some level I agree (I would say happiness is a choice rather than say that people choose what happens next. People don’t choose sexual assault, police brutality, or to live with little means in a poor country). I would like to urge you to please consider that your perspective is representative of a small part of the country and of the world. I live in Vietnam and I see women (and men) struggle every day. Whether they see it as a struggle, I cannot say, but it definitely appears that way. I do know that women in America who are not white and do not have husbands that support them definitely struggle. I wouldn't tell those women they choose a bad life. May I suggest that you word your message to be more mindful of the millions of women and men who do not choose what happens next but who at times are fighting to just stay afloat. Maybe those individuals are not your target audience and that would be understandable. If that's the case, I would suggest indicating so. Otherwise, the words you chose make you appear less sensitive than what I believe you mean to portray.

Failure and I have been like second cousins most of my life. I find it interesting, at times encouraging and at times discouraging to hear stories like this. I would love to hear more women talk about being successful without the support of a husband, and more successful men who did it without the support of a wife. Not that I don't value the incredible potential of having a healthy intimate relationship...just...a complex trick to feel successful, empowered and also not unlovable as a woman, especially as a woman who was assumed I would not be a good mother from the time I was born, large and out of wedlock. I look forward to reading this book (almost bought it at the airport this weekend). Lots of potential for growth in this society in finding more value in our feminine. Much love and thanks to you both.

Yes, Gabrielle! I've had the same sentiment! But we can be the example, we can show others that you CAN do it with or without the support of a spouse or partner. That double income makes a radical difference and tells an entirely different story.

I thought the same thing. Without her husband she wouldn't have this success. Yea she put in the work but he afforded her time and finances and childcare when needed. not her. And thats hard to tell single women who can't make their bills/take care of their kids and do non money making jobs that they can do it too in their position. its apples and oranges
@mamalovesthebeach4375 жыл бұрын
That's more of an excuse we tell ourselves to make us feel better ... she had X, she could do this because X ... better to look to ourselves and figure out how we CAN do something because there are PLENTY of examples of women achieving what Rachael has without support financially or emotionally. Rachael was set to achieve great things regardless - give her that - give yourself that ...

Of all the interviews in this channel I have watched.. this is my first comment ever. Big kudos to Lewis for holding the space for a great woman to shine and share her valuable truth!!! But most of all fir her to highlight that no matter how much hard work and achievements a woman creates, she doesn’t get treated or even invited to a gathering of colleagues just because she is not s “guy”.. when he challenges her to “create her own gathering” he directs to invite other women .. and she is like.. Yeah! I will invite MEN AND WOMEN!!! He stills don’t get it. But I DO.. as soon as my husband spear in my successful world & career, I disappear because I’m not a man. I respect this woman and the great work she is already doing for all of a progressive new human kind.

23:00 Through 27:15!!! Wow!! Just described my battles over the years! Family thinks my health and fitness career is just a hobby. Pushes me to Stick with my first career in the dental field, which I dislike and my bodies energy rejects, illness has come because of it. Yet they don’t hear me or believe in me making a career change. Dental is a real job, security and an expected income I can calculate. Anxiety has been a norm in my life. Big dreams and wanting to chase them makes it worse. I’m a work in progress people pleaser. But I know I’m not in my purpose at this time and that gives me anxiety of never discovering it. Working through it all with years of therapy. I’m a workaholic as well, up to three jobs, not working in my purpose or growing toward it. Feels like spinning on a hamster wheel. The pleasing father part, definitely hit home. My dad drilled into us that money doesn’t grow in trees and your value comes from the career you have that gives you a stable income, in a job that is secure. He was however a self made businessman, so I learned a lot growing up in that. I also never felt like I fit in the 9-5 j-o-b world. I have creativity, purpose and a desire to imprint encouragement and positivity on other people’s lives. I’ve made many jumps trying to build my career and have had to go back to the dental career backup plan. I believe it’s time to remove the backup plan and the only option is to keep striving and failing forward, to keep going after what I know is right for me, even if others don’t support me! Great interview!

I absolutely love this podcast. I am a 52 year old grandma of 2 and mom of 2. I've always had to work since my kids were in grammar school. I felt like I was in a rat race and felt guilty that I couldn't be a stay at home mom. Some people, including family, frowned upon me being a working mom. After 25 years in the corporate world, I lost my job in the post 2008 economic fall. I found myself in a complete panic and a financial disaster. I had to reinvent myself quickly and found the courage to start my own business. Failure was not an option. I got to the point that I didn't care what people thought and had to learn the hard way that some "friends" really weren't friends. I recently started another business that helps people connect to a platform to get healthier, make a great income, work from home or from anywhere. I want to help empower other women to go after their dreams, set goals and crush them. It's so important for ladies out there to know, "Age is not a factor!" You can start your own business, take control of your time, give yourself and your family time and financial freedom. Follow your heart and know that every single lady out there, regardless of age and education and experience can create an amazing life! I'm witnessing it everyday! I am seeing women take control and be confident and successful, it is a beautiful thing! If you want to hear about an opportunity that's helping people everyday and giving back, I would love to share with anyone out there looking for a significant change. You must take care of yourself first! jbbagents@gmail.com Thank you Rachel for following your dreams and not letting the "status quo" dictate your life. We all need to embrace ourselves and our capabilities. The only roadblocks exist in your thoughts!!

Dude, how you explained something, my mother said to me when she was probably in a bad mood and was a reaction instead of a response , years ago as a little kid, holds me back so much,because i will rationalize my hold back. wow, really opened me up , thank you so much. I need some advice where to get help, i will procrastinate the help. hope you get this.

Lewis, another great and inspiring video on your channel. Your recent interviews with Joe Dispenza, Marisa Peer and this one really inspires me to focus my business on working with the power of subconscious mind. Bless you Lewis!
