Same. I did the curly girl method for 2 years and could only get it to look good 2 days max. People don’t want to admit that for type 2A-B hair how much work it takes for our waves to look good. The only thing that works is doing my wash day all over again.

The most helpful thing I've found was realizing that what specific product I refresh with matters a lot. If I add in more of certain gels or mousses my hair will get sticky or producty feeling, but if I use the 'right' ones they don't. My favorite to refresh with is cake mousse because it won't add that sticky or producty feeling even if I add it to dry hair.

i have 2A hair that gets weighed down easily and i’m still struggling to find the right products and ratios of them, but the most inconvenient thing for me is how tangled my hair gets if i flip my hair over to apply product or even scrunching in the shower. do you have any tips for that? thank you in advanceeeee 🥰

I struggle so much with overnight protection. I’ve tried the pineapple bun/ ponytail and just plopping in a satin bonnet, but it still always messes up my hair. Doesn’t help that bonnets and scarves don’t like to stay on my head. I move a lot during my sleep. I also can’t maintain them at work but that’s a whole diff issue 😭

Would you still suggest applying leave ins/creams from ear down even if you don't need to scalp train? My hair has been extra frizzy (outermost layer, halo frizz) lately and I just can't figure out how to reduce the frizz🤣 watched multiple videos and posts on how to tame frizz but nothing works!
@NemesisMarie2 жыл бұрын
Hi luv! If your scalp is balanced and you feel like the hair close to your roots might need some moisture, you can go ahead and apply a bit of leave-in BUT VERY LITTLE👌🏽 and make sure to brush it, brushing away from your scalp so it gets well distributed and it can also encourage some root-lift☺️

Hi there! :) I recently found your channel last night, and I've been binging all your videos! I just recently found out that I have wavy hair, after years of thinking my hair was straight. I've been doing non-stop research since then! You've been SO helpful, and you've really got me excited to start my haircare journey! ❤ quick question- I have a pretty oily scalp, so I've been trying to use dry shampoo to limit having to wash my hair. I find that I usually have to brush it in (so the white-cast doesn't show), but then my wave completely disappears. Addtionally, my hair usually looses its wave when I brush through it anyways, but I need to so my hair doesn't tangle. Any tips? 🥰
@NemesisMarie2 жыл бұрын
Hi babes, sooooo this is one of the 1st rules of wavy/curly hair: pls pls pls don’t brush it while it’s dry 🥺 (unless it’s right before washing). This will automatically mess up your curl/wave pattern. The best way to keep your hair from tangling is protecting it while you sleep, and if you DO get knots, it’s better to finger detangle them individually (maybe with a bit of oil if you need to). As for the dry shampoo and the white cast it leaves, my recommendation is to spray it directly on your scalp (not so much on your hair) and using your fingers to massage it until the cast is done. Hope this helps!

i recommend the Co Lab dry shampoo! i get it at walmart and it’s a lifesaver since my hairstylist said i can only wash my hair once a week after i melted my sh*t. the first time i used it i used wayyyyyyy too much because i couldn’t see the white cast and thought it just wasn’t working, but it literally just doesn’t have a white cast like 85% of the time! i like the original scent but they have other scents too!

I tried refreshing at the very beginning of my journey but my hair went all stretchy/gummy (higral fatigue). Do you have this issue? I am getting a silk lined bonnet soon too
@LovingGodLovingOthers2 жыл бұрын
This happened to me too so I stopped using conditioner for now until it gets better, stopped washing often (once a week minimum), also I don’t get my hair wet unless it’s wash day or I need to refresh for a special place to go. On wash day I plop as soon as I washed so it’ll not be wet as long, and then only use a little mousse on damp hair and diffuse quickly as possible. It sucks because my hair is so ugly for now 😩

If possible wear a swim cap when swimming so you can protect your hair
