This is an awesome video. You are literally the only Army Pilot that I can think of off the top of my head who shares what it is like being an Army Pilot and how to become one. This is immensely helpful!

It must have really changed since I retired as CW4 in 2015 after 23 years in the Army and Army National Guard. As a Warrant Officer I was in charge of the Troop arms room, field sanitation, unit publications, threat officer and unit movement officer all trying to get my PIC on active duty. Later I was an attack helicopter Instructor Pilot, OH-58 A/C Safety Officer and further qualified on Joint Firepower (U designation). Since the Army required Warrants to also take a “commission” I was platoon leader and Troop XO in the National Guard. The Warrant Officers don’t just fly the aircraft.

Although I’ve never been a pilot but my oldest brother was a British army air core captain, I on the other hand was more concerned with dropping from them or making them expand rapidly and from my opinion and the rest of my troop there wasn’t a more beautiful sight to behold than especially when we were taking fire. Now i realise that there’s some things that you can’t speak of but I’d consider it an honour if you and other serving and former helo crews would accept the gratitude of my soulmate and me our eternal thanks. 🙏🙏🙏. Happy landings sir.

Thanks for making these brother! I wanted so badly to fly helicopters while I was in but was always too lazy to put in the paperwork. Your videos always kind of “scratch the itch” that I had to fly.

Can you do a video of what to and not to do before/during flight school? And how to be prepared for it ?

I'd be very interested in this too!

thank you so much for your whole channel!! Subbed and liked. I'm a Flight Instructor (Fixed wing) hoping to swap to Rotor wing. Your videos have been an IMMENSE help. I think I'm going to look into ANG more, I was thinking to enlist active with coast guard, but the spots aren't guaranteed, and I have a lot going for me civilian side that I don't want to give up.

This was awesome! I know someone who just got their orders for Fort Rucker. He wants to fly Apaches so we'll see! Can you talk about 160th SOAR and what its like to try and get into that?
@swiley404511 ай бұрын
After you have graduated flight school and if you are on active duty the 160th came to each post to find eligible candidates. I took a checkout with them in 1987 and then if you showed them how bad you wanted it they would send you to their 90 day train up and decide if they wanted to keep you or throw you out. I saw them take a WO1 that could not get his flight planning right but if they feel you are trainable would let you try out.

My most common question for pilots are, what button did you hit? and why did you press the rescue hoist so hard?

As a black hawk pilot do you carry out CAS or anti-tank or personal missions? Isnt the UH-60 able to equipt 2 rocket pods and eight AGMs?

Great video, thank you for making it. So, the question I have is... is there a way to confirm whether a person actually flew helicopters in a reserve unit or National Guard unit? There is a person I know a who talks about flying helicopters in either a National Guard or Reserve Army unit in Massachusetts. I am a Vietnam Era veteran who served in the Army from 1972 to 1976 (yes, I am old I know) but I always call out posers when I know when one is operating in my "AO." The person I am referring to says that he flew (retired now because he is 74) helicopters buuuuuut, I'm not so sure. So, I'm just curious if there is a way to determine whether he flew in a Massachussetts ARNG or Reserve Unit. Thank you!!

Just found you on the utube, seen a lot of the tiktok, but I figured your most asked question would be what your general aviation interest are? Are you flying fixed wing in the 135 world?

Hiiii Sir, could you tell me what is exactly your MOS? What is you real path school? I'm highly interested by your job but idk what school to do or if the army train us for that job? Were you an enlisted soldier before being an officier? I'll check your others vids to see if you already talk about that but if not there are my questions ahaha. I searched for medevac on the internet and I found 67J aeromedical évacuation officer but when I search on the US army app with all the MOSes it seems that this MOS doesn't exist anymore..maybe they changed the name?
