As an armchair historian, I have to say that a more accurate instrument for this particular time frame would be a Moog System 55. Peasants would repurpose hoes and tills to create the filters and oscillators needed for that type of synthesizer. Hope that helps!

I was SO not expecting the Lord Farquaad clip. Omg and then the Court Jester! XD And omg, I love this Cantiga! I've probably listed to it a billion times. Done by the now defunct group New York Pro Musica, who performed and recorded medieval music from the 50's to the 70's. Anyway, this was a hilarious and delightful rendition of Cantiga 166.
