I enjoy your videos so much because you talk realistically about how long things take to knit. Also I like that you embrace any mistakes in your final piece and love it anyway. I’m a fairly new knitter and didn’t learn until I was around 63 years old so I’m still making lots of mistakes along the way. I want to try a mix of mohair and yarn that you have used in some of your projects.

I think the North sweater is like a russet color so red-brown xD I love seeing all of your projects! Definitely inspiring me to knit different things like cardigans and sweater vests instead of just sweaters haha

I have to say orange as well 😂 but maybe it's because it might look different on camera? Anyways, absolutely love all the pieces you showed here. I started knitting in 2021 and I successfully knit a sweater and a cardigan (and I improvised the patterns!). Watching this video has fuelled my motivation to create a lot of new garments this year and finally have a personalized closet 😁

Yes, rust color and not red color for the North. :D Also want to say, for bleeding yarn, if wool, try soaking in a water and white vinegar bath to stabilize the color. Works 9 times out of 10. The worst the bath will do is soften your yarn so is good to experiment.

I bought pure Scottish wool in forest green, it was bleeding onto my hands when knitting! I researched and found hydrogen peroxide recipe online, to treat it. It turned out light blue! But it stopped bleeding! It’s my favorite garment now!

I'd say overall my knitting 2021 was successful. I didn't make very many pieces that I wore a lot, but I learned a crazy amount about what I like and knitting in general. I'm now very comfortable creating my own patterns happily and I casted on a couple pieces at the end of the year that I think will be just perfect.

Tbh I haven't made much for myself this year but a lot of little gifts for other like scarfs and homedeco things, but I do love the blanket I finished at the beginning of the year that I made! it was my first project ever and it made me fall in love with crochet and yarn in general!

I've seen a lot of your videos as the algoroithm finally catched up on my newfound hobby for knitting, you've just gained yourself a subscriber! I second that with hobii yarns, they are generally not pleasant to work with and never lasts any well. I suggest trying Drops Alpacca Silk as a substitute for mohair. It's my most purchased yarn by far. It does shed and pill a bit in the beginning while settling, but it stays soft, and depending on the stitches used it feels thicker than it actually is and it stays soft. It also itch a lot less than mohair yarns.

To stop the yarn from bleeding you could try to soak the cardigan in a bucket with water and vinegar for one night. Its a natural dye fixative.

The light blue cardigan is really really nice. I‘m not sure if I am able to knit a cardigan as my knitting experience is about …. 40 years ago🙈. But my question is if you use two strains (drops air and mohair) do you change the requested needle size requested for drops air to a size bigger? I love most of your „successes“. Will definitely choose one of those! Thanks for sharing, especially for all the great additional explanations!💕

I’d say the North sweater is more of a rusty red brown personally, but I feel like everyone sees colours different anyways! My favourite sweater I made this year/last year is the Tri-Cable Cardigan by Suzanne Crawford and it is by far my most worn knit of all time! I made it in the WAK Finita yarn and it’s so soft, though it has felted quite a bit in the underarms lol

My 2 favorites of your collection are the cardigan #7 and the high mock turtle neck in off white (my favorite knitwear) which you didnt mention in the video. I knitted both of these patterns after watching your podcasts. They were both a success :) Just one suggestion if it's ok with you.. I noticed "the hole" at the underarm in one of your sweaters (i read that this tends to happen with raglan sweater). Theres a good tutorial video on how to cover that up by incorporating a few ssk stitches when you pick up cast on sketches for the sleeves.

I just stumbled across your channel, I love it. I only completed one project in 2021 but I adore it, it was the Cowboys and Angels shawl by Isabell Kraemer. It was my intro into lace knitting and even though it took me a few goes (I think I frogged it like 4 times at the beginning?!) it was well worth it in the end. I learned so much from knitting this shawl, I always try to pick projects that will stretch my skills in some way.

I had the same issue with the Cumulus tee. I made mine in a forest green merino wool, which I love, but sadly I don't seem to wear it as much because I don't feel this type of yarn was suitable for this project. I'm considering making a new one with mohair only and then extending the arms to look more like the Cumulus blouse; then repurposing the other yarn for another project - I just need to figure out which one first lol.

This is Mona your friend in Wisconsin I'm 65 as far as the the sweater goes whether it's red or brown and this is a diplomatic answer but I'm being honest it's both really it's really both it's a reddish brown it's not really red and it's not really Brown it's it's a blending that's my opinion of course and you did that so I love watching you knit your beautiful knitter and beautiful girl I pray you know Jesus I love knitting with you I started knitting in 2016 I've been crocheting for a while I'm learning how to do it and make it look nice as I'm visually impaired it takes me more time and work to get something done I wish I could buy your patterns and products and others but I don't have the funds for that but when I do I will all I can say is is good to visit with you it's good to see your podcast and I support you in that way and I will always and I enjoy your friendship through the knitting and just visiting with you and hearing about how you're doing and you do great just keep doing what you're doing God bless in Jesus name shalom

It's rust, so whatever catagory that fits into... that's it for you. It's your sweater, so you can see it however you want. I had a guy help me with repairing a front door, which includes painting it. It was a steel door, so required a rust proofing primer. I wasn't paying attention, but when he was done with the primer, I said, "Perfect." That's exactly what I wanted. I wanted a red... that I liked, and I know I lean to the rust/reds. He went on and applied a top coat that I totally didn't like... and I said what happened to that beautiful red you painted it before? He said, "Oh, that was just the primer. You wouldn't like it, it's a terrible color, but just a primer." I was selling the house, so I left it, but if I was staying, I'd have gone back to the rust/red. Shows you how differently we all see colors. Your sweater, your color.... Love, love, love the vest. It's perfect with the little rib knit capped sleeves. Maybe a different tee or other garment under it would work better, but it's a great piece.
