My mother makes me mash my mini M&M's on a Monday morning, Oo Ah! Updated version ascending and descending with a beat. I love this exercise as it helps to warm-up the vocal folds, face, and articulators. It's a popular warm-up for kids, adults, and choirs and is best sung with clear, crisp consonants and in one breath. This exercise is performed on one note and involves ascending and descending in semitones (half-steps) on "Oo Ah." To aid in accuracy, I find it helpful to think of the solfege syllables "mi fa" while ascending and "ti do" while descending. Also, learning the solfege hand signs can also assist in improving pitch.
