The footage is from the TV show Vikings. Filmed in Ireland and aired on the history Channel. The show went up and down, some seasons and stories being better than others. You just saw late in the show and a few storylines coming to an end. The show isn't the greatest as straight history in many ways but you get a taste and people/places/events to look up if you want to know more. If nothing else it captured the flavor of the era a good bit and even the weaker seasons would have interesting set pieces. This footage was them jumping around with settings and perception.
