On the third and final instalment of my adventure through Devon (and Dartmoor), I travel back from Dartmoor, through Weymouth and back to Portsmouth. I stop off at the Hive cafe in Weymouth after a little mishap with the bike! And then take the scenic route through the New Forest before reaching home. Thanks for watching!

That was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. I live across the water on guernsey and don’t get off much so very enjoyable to watch on the day of my 67th birthday. Thank you. Btw it’s not Denise but her husband John that’s on her iPad 👍😉

Hi! Cool video, small question though, how are you able to ride with all that luggage and a backpack at the same time. Do you still have enough mobility on the bike or is the backpack connstanly crushing to the other bags?

That's a good question. It was actually the opposite, I was able to rest my rucksack on the duffle bag, which took 100% of the weight off my shoulders, it was super comfy!

@@ballamoto thank you for answering so fast. I drive a cfmoto clx 700 and it doesn't have much space on the back so i am not sure if i have to invest in a +20L volume backpack or a big tailbag...

Some good footage, I’m always looking for places to go so helpful info. Only negative point would be that speed limit through New Forest is 40 mph and you could clearly see your Speedo was recorded between 50 and 60 mph. Not a great advert for sensible riding?

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. Only twisted the throttle when I felt safe to do so (aka could see there were no horses or other animals), but you're right was probably a bit naughty. Or must have had the speedo set to kmh! 😂

I’m don’t have an XSR700 yet but am seriously considering getting one. My only concern is the comfort level during longer trips. How was the seat positioning, seat comfort, and wind screen for you? Did you get fatigued quickly? What are the “must haves” in your opinion for longer rides to make it more comfortable? Thanks!

I have actually removed the windscreen, it didn't do anything noticeable for me! The seat is OK, I've had it reupholstered now, and a top layer of foam added, I can do about 4 hours at a time in the saddle. I did a longer trip to South of France last year, and I could outlast my friend on his Tenere even though he had the rally seat. So I'd say it's pretty good for a non sports touring bike. Obviously there are better bikes for the long haul though! I don't do too many long trips so for me comfort is never an issue 👍

This is the question I’ve been looking for I’m on a BMW F650 Dakar at the moment but the fun factor is missing. Coming from a zx9r that was uncomfortable but fun then to the Dakar comfortable (ish) but as dull as the German stamp collector Christmas do I got the Dakar for a trip to the Arctic circle that was fun. I now think I need an XSR700 as a bit of middle ground. Off to Morocco in September as the last run on the Dakar after that it’s on for the XSR I think. 32 leg with creaking knees I hope this will be doable for the odd 300 mile day

What grips are you using? they look really good!
@ballamoto

Thanks. They're leather grip wraps from TripmachineCo. I really rate them! Great for dampening vibrations too. They just go over the existing grip, so they do make them a little thicker, but I quite like that.
