Great breakdown! I am 52 and I am going to be very honest. I used to use the entire Drunk Elephant skincare line. For quite awhile. I decided that that money could be better used on other things. It's EXTREMELY expensive! I have switched to much less expensive products that are good quality, great ingredient products and my skin actually looks and feels better. It's a matter of research and trial and error. Now I have more money for makeup....lol. Mom is just beautiful! I love your videos together because they remind me of me and my Mom. She passed away two years ago and I still miss her horribly. Watching you two makes me smile and remember good times with my mom. Thank you.

So kind of you to hop on, so nice of you for braving a Bare face-but you're so gorgeous you really don't need to cover it up at all!!! I wonder, if at almost 40yo, if I should start using some of these products to 1. Play catch up, as an 80s/90s child I didn't wear sunscreen as I've never had a sunburn & we didn't care about it then anyhow & 2. To prepare my skin for the coming 20yrs so I can feel good about my skin & hopefully look as good as you do at your young age!? I have normal skin with some dryness in the winter, but I'm also learning how to use more skincare treatments & products for the morning & evening. So far, I wash & wear basically as I'm starting out on a very tight budget-so thank you for including & showing how you actually incorporate the more affordable options!! Thanks from across the pond & almost in the arctic circle, so super long winters & super nonstop sunny summers =need skincare!!! Sorry for the long comment, but this is important to me, I'll share with my aunts as much as my own mom has passed away 10yrs ago, but she'd have appreciated this too. For vitamin C I would highly recommend Medik8 C-tetra, it is beautiful to apply and sinks in straight away, no stickiness. I love it and am now also converted to their hyaluronic acid serum, makes my skin look gorgeous in the morning. You only need a couple of drops of both so although not cheap they last ages. I love all the Cerave products - the cream in the tub is so thick and moisturizing. I use it on my dry legs/feet/hands at night when I’m scaly and my skin still feels soft in the morning. You can feel it rinsing off in the shower. I’ve never had a cream do that. I like that you give cheaper alternatives to some products but tell what’s worth it. Have you tried the Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM? It’s a 1.5% retinol with vitamin C and E. It’s hard to describe the texture - not liquidy but not oily - it sinks in pretty fast and doesn’t feel heavy. It’s unlike anything I’ve tried, but I haven’t tried the Ordinary. I’d be interested to see if you’ve heard of it.

And a note on the Cerave moisturising lotion - it is superb for oily skin, too, it's lightweight and doesn't clog pores. I have super oily skin and in colder months I mix it with Pai's rosehip oil (great quality, organic, vegan, and VERY regenerating on the skin). x

Oh please do a Nuface tutorial! I just bought one and it came in yesterday. Tried to use it tonight and had no clue what I was doing. I’m vision impaired and really couldn’t see the directions well enough to read it. I did watch a a video and tried to go along but really couldn’t keep up bc the gel kept drying. You need to apply the get to each section as you are ready to begin. You will have six sections. One on either side of your neck, one on either side of your face and one on either side of your forehead. The Nuface gel will totally dry if you put it on your whole face at the beginning. I actually do not like their gel and I use either an Aloe Gel or ultrasound gel. The Aloe Gel does not dry out very quickly at all and I can put it on my whole neck and do those two sections, then I put it on both sides of my face and do those and then I put it on my whole forehead and do that. Much better for me and not nearly as expensive as the Nuface gel. Lots of videos on youtube for the basic routine and advanced routines. You will love your device :)

I am well into my sixties and have never learned how to use make up correctly , I only use moisturizer, cc cream. Eye brow powder , eye shadow and clear mascara no lipstick because I have thin lips .I would really love to be able to learn . I’m 22 year old guy who has a full skincare routine, I use the cerave hydrating cleanser, inky list toner, the ordinary buffet serum and then I use Superdrug hydrating serum that’s slightly thicker consistency, I then use a 30 SPF and then i use cerave SA moisturiser. I do similar at night but I Use the ordinarys lactic acid one night and then I use a Retinol cream after I use my moisturiser. Skincare is self care.

Gemma, tell your mum that I think she is beautiful and I want to thank her a thousand times, as we over 65 need to hear from others our age what products really works for them. Now there are some of the items your lovely mum uses that are extremely pricey and not affordable for me, however maybe they are affordable for others. But I liked that you offered affordable alternatives such as The Ordinary which I am easing in to as I never heard of them before I started watching Utube. So I appreciate your doing that. Now that is not to say I do not want to hear about the more pricey products as maybe I could “hint” about how nice it would be to receive one to try. It is in practically every grocery store or drug store and COSTCO here in the states as well as Amazon and I Herb on line

Thank you - I have tried at least 8 chemists, all Superdrug’s and Boots within 25 mile radius but have found can click and collect so maybe it’s just not reached our area xx will keep asking in store in the hope they will soon stock! Thanks again x
