I love the little details of this scene. Barry never uncrossed his arms or took his eyes off Sam, and while he’s clearly repressing the urge to kill Sam immediately, he gathers information to do it later, like when he says, “oh San Diego”....and when Sam says the hotel he’s staying at, you can tell Barry’s coming up with a plan to kill him. That this scene comes right after Sally was trying to force Barry to “act” violently, and he refused, is so brilliant. She probably thinks he’s the most gentle man alive, when in reality he’s a pure predator stalking his prey.

I love the contrast in how Sally and Barry react to this potential threat, Barry is on edge trying to find out why he’s here, what he’s up to, trying to defend Sally’s character, while Sally is clearly uncomfortable but just wants to placate placate placate. It’s how they survived violence, Barry fought and Sally fawned

I love at the end how the camera shows Sally sitting down in between Sam and Barry shaking hands. It comes to show the relationship that she has with each man and how each relationship is affecting the other, and how she knows that Barry despises Sam and that Barry could beat him to death in a second. The expression on her face screams how incredibly uncomfortable she is with the two men who have made two very different major impacts on her life meeting face to face. Brilliant cinematography and acting.
