You have a lot in common with Disturbed’s singer, David Draiman. He’s been very open about his mental health struggles and talks about how he deals with it. This songs concept came about a few years back when Disturbed’s lead guitarist/pianist/songwriter,Dan Donnegan, got a divorce. He and David worked on it. Previously, Draiman posted on social media how much he loved Ann Wilson’s vocals. She saw it and contacted him and said she’d love to work with the band sometime. Dan felt that the song was missing something, a female counter voice. David sent it Ann and she agreed to do it. It a fantastic story and an incredible song! Look up some interviews of David talking about his mental health issues and how he deals with them. It’s better to talk openly about it, like you’re doing, than hide it. Coincidentally, Draiman got divorced last year. Very painful for him.
