Love hearing about your hair journey! I started taking my hair care seriously again the beginning of the year. So I’m back to my weekly deep conditioners and low maintained hairstyles and trimming my hair every 3 months or so when it’s needed (because I was very inconsistent with trims) so I’m trying to trust the process at this point lol

Your hair is my inspiration because I always want that 70s big fro style from the first video I saw of you. I always had dreads and very tight styles and my hair is 4c soft, thin, and can dry easily. Over the few years my two sets of locks resulted in me having traction alopecia and I went bald to restart my journey a third time. I decided to grow an Afro after watch blaxploitation movies and 70s black culture. My front hair and middle patches are still very thin compared to the rest of my head, but your products and my specific routine is growing them back. So far I’m just 4 months in from my big chop, so I got a long way to go but I love what I have so far. I’m glad you found love and knowledge with the natural hair community as I have. Even I as a black man needed help, and I’m glad the 4c hair community of many black women like you really inspired me to restart. Thank you 😊

damn this was a great video! didnt think you went through all those struggles in your hair journey. as a male who been growing out the hair for almost 2 yrs this gave me a lot of motivation and hope. Lice and nits in afro texture hair is hard to get💀 its harder to reach the scalp so theres limited chance of getting blood from the scalp for them to survive (someone made a comment about lice and nits, quite rude, this my reply because they deleted their comment )
@queenofpunt Жыл бұрын
Oh so that's explains why when me and my siblings we're in a group home ( Foster care) All the white kids kept getting lice ( I'm telling you there was a lice pandemic) but we were the only ones with no lice lmaoo. Nearly the whole house had lice expect for us 😂 I'm telling you i SAW THOSE THINGS CRAWL ON THEIR HEADS some of them had lice the size of common flies😭 Like i could physically see them jumping from a straight head of hair to another. They were visiting their relatives and shi and still we had NONE. My hair type is like 3c with some 3b and my brothers have 4a/4b and the youngest one got type 3c and a bit of 4a.
@queenofpunt Жыл бұрын
The white's were shocked to why we didn't get the lice they were almost expecting it as if we had brought them in oh I'm sure they would have loved to blame the foreign kids. Some of them had their whole head of hair shaved because of it they had trouble getting rid of it because it was reoccurring. I just laughed at the racist ones who got the lice i was enjoying it and telling them to get far away from me with their colony of lice 😂
@queenofpunt Жыл бұрын
the lice literally evolved in their scalps that's how big of an issue the lice was for them, even the lice scalp ointments and medicine couldn't get rid of theirs. They evolved to have resistance to the medicine 💀 They ended up shaving their hair especially the boy's

I recently did a big chop again, after 6 years of being natural. Though, I liked my huge afro a lot, and was constantly praised for it…it started consuming my thoughts a bit too much, especially when I noticed how damaged it had became. I was constantly hyper-fixating on my hair, to the point where I wouldn’t even leave the house, if one strand was out of place. That’s when I decided, it has to go. Ever since I cut it, I’ve been feeling much better. I still miss my afro though, but I’ve always been able to grow my hair easily, so I’m not too sad about losing all that length. Hair grows back again after all. I’m hoping now that I’m starting over, that it’ll grow out thicker, much like how it looked when I first started growing my afro out 😭😭

I had thick long hair about 8 months ago and was not happy with my hair. I started to straight my hair, dyeing it and relaxing it a lot and even cutting a lot of my hair. Now my hair is damaged, straight and I have a lot of breakage. My hair is not thick like it used to be and a lot of my hair comes out when I touch of comb it. I decided to go natural again, doing box braids and keeping my hair in protected styles. Can you make a video sharing your routine on hair and how often do you protected styles. Your hair looks amazing would love to get my hair thick and long again. Love your videos. ❤

I just shaved off all my hair after having it relaxed and bits of it pulled out in the back from cornrows done by African braiders. I used to have a decently full Afro that I’d been growing out for 3 years, but the health of it started going down which led to me relaxing it. Hearing your story gave me hope that my hair could get to better condition than it was before with time. Would you mind sharing any specific routines you picked up along your journey? Mmmmm I'm at a point where my hair doesn't grow as much as it breaks and I don't really do anything with it besides wash it, twist it and keep it in a scarf till the next wash cycle. I wish I was more courageous to experiment with it but I have a huge distrust of the salons. I don't feel black hair care salons are in the business of making our hair healthy just nice for a moment.

@@AJ-dw9or Mine unfortunately does, as well as when I put my hair products in afterwards. My hands end up a mess of loose hair (I have 4b). Been trying my best with it by myself for a couple of years, especially at the expense of growing up with white caretakers (who also tried their best), but I'm starting to lose hope that mine will ever grow to waist length.
