After 4 babies I’ve learned it’s all about moving and breathing with the waves of labor. Letting that roar out is so powerful… and having a calm environment free from distractions to prevent you from holding back is key. Preparing your mind along with your body is also key. For my third baby I prepared with a hypnolabor course and I had a completely pain free euphoric birth at home. It is definitely possible. I love the books you mentioned too. You are such a powerful woman and will be an incredible mom.

What is a hypnolabor course?
@aqueen132 жыл бұрын
@@TheCityDweller1 it was a 6 week course with a hypnobirthing coach (Hypnobabies has similar coaches). They teach you about birth, help you move past any fears before labor, and help you learn and practice the techniques to make birth easier. It was a fabulous experience. If I ever get pregnant again I would definitely take this coarse again.

Girl! You're so right about labor starts after. Initially, my breasts hurt so much from first-time breastfeeding. Going to the bathroom (1 & 2) was equally as challenging. And I learned the hard way how much I took sleep for granted. Also, multiple soaked shirts from the milk. Basically, my body felt like I threw myself from a balcony for the 1st couple of weeks. TMI, yo.

Oh yes! My nipples were raw and chapped the first 2 weeks of breastfeeding but what saved me was nipple shells!!! So my nipples could heal. Then me and baby figured out breastfeeding and it barely hurts now. Maybe the first few seconds for each latch but that’s probably because I’m lazy and can’t bother to wait for my son’s mouth to open wide so we can get a proper latch lol. I’ll just give him the boob quickly now lol he’ll figure out a proper latch after he’s on me lol.

This was great to see. I used to be midwifery student (out of hospital), and know everything you are talking about. Yes, where you birth doesn't define a woman. HOwever hospital vs. home are night and day, as well as the care you receive. America still has a way's to go as far as maternity care and standard procedures birthing in hospitals. Please do a video on postpartum. No one rarely talks about it. Even as I was a student I didn't realize the magnification of how hard PP is. "Strom" is a scar word, yet can be true. It's vital woman have a support system to help mom after baby comes.

When you said I’m awake and coherent I should be like this… Childbirth has been shown in such a way that extreme pain or discomfort is the way we expect to feel during because it is all that is typically shown to the world When I went in at 36 weeks after laboring all day at work, they almost sent me home because I was calm and they did not believe I was in active labor Well sure enough I was and I was already 6cm dilated I would have driven over an hour home and given birth in my car if I had left without making them check me Long story short, birthing is different for everyone and you’d be surprised just how many women have a calming experience as opposed to what is traditionally seen in media Blessings to you and your family I’m so grateful that the Lord blessed you with a peaceful labor and delivery

You are sooo right!!! I can definitely do labor again. Postpartum is not it!!!! I felt your story so much because I just had my 3rd but my first homebirth a few weeks ago. I am so glad it happened the way it did because I ended up giving birth before my midwife even got there. It was perfect because it was just me and my husband. It was intimate, and very quick. I was only in active labor for 2 hours but I think it would have been a lot slower if my midwife was there. I feel like I would have had a hard time relaxing under her watch even though I love her! That connection with your significant other during labor is so essential I've learned over my labors. Love your authenticity and your realness! Please make the postpartum video!!!

I LOVED your tech talks, the transformations (the Nicki Minaj one is just stamped in my memory, also the Storm from X-men). I was obsessed with the music you used, I think your cousin was behind those beats. The clean way you edited. Anyhow. When you went to NYC fashion week, I could identify so well with the shameless journey of leaving behind fear and shame and just starting to live your best life. I'm 26. That's a big chunk of my life and it just hit me. And even as I have watched you less sometimes, and more, other times, you have always been such a positive influence to me. To the teen me, apparently! That is crazy! It's crazy. I don't know you. I am in another country. Well now you are closer because I moved to Finland and then you moved to Sweden. But anyhow, you have taught me STUFF. I remember points you have made, regarding a specific situation gone wrong, a lesson learnt, struggling with religion, grounding yourself in it, relationships. Now you posted this. In some years I might use this video as a mom. There is more people like me out there. And your impact has just been positive, always. It's just... I don't know. You might know all of this already, but seriously. Be proud of the people you have reached. The kind of content you have stuck to. Staying true to yourself. The "archive" in your channel just speaks by itself. You are going to be an amazing mom. All the best for this new chapter ♥️

I love that you had a home birth. The mother mortality rate in the US is so high and I think it would be lower if women choose home births.

Or if proper care was given to everyone equally… and people taking cate of us actually listened to us. But yeah, home births too.
