Counter temporal shift: even with 2 doom stalkers it's been very useful for me by forcing the opponent to fire on a healthy one and not a damaged one, so they effectively share a health pool. Stick a reanimator behind the pair and that 'shared' pool is healing 4d3 a turn: super frustrating to play against, especially if they're next to cover so if necessary can just skidaddle. The ability to keep my anti elite/heavy firing at all times has won me games.

I had such a fun game recently vs Tyranids with Canoptek Court. My 2 Doomstalker had trouble killing his Maleceptor, but after he used precison on one of my Wraiths squads and killed my Technomancer i used the Curse Stratagem, and let me tell you, it made all the difference. 1 Doomstalker hit this thing so hard he fell right over. And 2 rounds later i decided to finally use the little flayer guns from the Doomstalker which i often just forget about on purprose. And one of those 2 flayer shots actually managed to kill the Norn Emissary on its last wound while an Objective with its FNP. I guess the phrase "You miss 100% of the shots you don´t take" has a point after all.

I like to use the subroutines on Wraith and move over a unit nearby to spread a few MW 😉

Still looking for the tactics that match up with 2000 points worth of basic custodes guard. I throw every necron I have at them, and find them impossible to beat. I thought I had something with canoptic court immortals, but that was taken away before I even got to try it.

You could try Gauss Immortals with the Plasmancer and near szeras (AP2, lethals on 5s) and stack saves. Hit Rerolls in the power matrix and if they are standing on an objective full wound re-rolls. Doomstalkers are also alright here too (I like Overwatching with the rerolls and hitting on 5s) since most Custodes won't have (many) vehicles for your doomstalkers to shoot at

Without devastating wounds, there is nothing to get past their 2+ save. 40 gauss shots possibly kills one guard which thanks to their strategems comes back once per unit. And then I’m in charge range and there goes the unit.

With a plasmancer a rerolls that's 21 lethal hits if you fish for critical hits. A 4 up saves only half of that, then you'll need to dump more of your army into it. Screening lines with scarabs can also buy you another shooting phase.

Scarab swarms were definitely going to be a part of my next try, I was going to add to spiders to make the line more durable. My problem with lethal hits is it still gives the custodes their ridiculously unbeatable save, all the time. Devastating wounds is the only thing that offers the chance of actually getting lucky enough to wipe a unit and take away their ability to use their strategem to bring back a model. I’m playing a much more inexperienced player and should not be losing every time. That tells me there is something wrong with my army rules or his. It’s unbalanced. I can only hope that the Custodes codex will be as bad as ours.
